Miss Betty Hogenson Weds Theodore Van Handel Today

Miss Betty Hogenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hogenson, 910 N. Fifth street, became the bride of Theodore Van Handel, son of Mrs. Emma Van Handel, this city, at a nuptial service which took place at 9 o'clock this morning in St. Clement's church, the Rev. Father Delaney performing the ceremony.

The bridal gown was of cream satin fashioned with a lace jacket and the egg shell veil was arranged in cap effect. The bride carried an arm bouquet of gypsophelia and pale pink roses.

The bride's attendants presented a lovely appearance in their colorful frocks with large picture hats to match. Miss Gertrude Forkins, the maid of honor, was in blue and carried deep pink roses. Miss Leona Braun, one of the bridesmaids, had a dress of gold and Miss Agnes Dobson, the other bridesmaid, wore green. Both young women carried bouquets of yellow and lavendar sweetpeas.

Roy Head attended the bridegroom as best man and Jack Meyer and Emil Tanty were ushers. The bride's cousin, Richard Warnecke and Ray Van Handel, nephew of the bridegroom, were mass servers.

A wedding dinner was served at the Eagles lodge rooms this noon for forty guests and the tables were decorated with roses and bridal-wreath. Among the guests were: Mrs. A. Reddington of Milwaukee, Mrs. Peter Hogenson and son, George Hogenson, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Reinterson, all of Manitowoc; the Rev. and Mrs. Gigstad of Pulaski, Mr. and Mrs. F. Van Handel of Appleton, and Miss Barbara Dietrich of Fond du Lac.

Following a wedding trip to Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Van Handel will return to this city after June 23, and will be at home to their friends at 420 New York avenue.

Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of St. Clement's school and the bride is a graduate of the Sheboygan High school. Mr. Van Handel is a salesman at Klein Tog Shop.
