This morning at 9 o'clock, Miss Gladys Helen Skarda, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skarda, 829 St. Clair avenue, approached the altar at Holy Name church to pledge her marriage vows with Herbert Ploetz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ploetz, 2121 Cleveland avenue. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Phillipp Dreis read the nuptial high mass and officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Miss Florence Hotz of this city, student at St. Agnes hospital at Fond du Lac, and a friend of the bride, sang the Ave Maria and the Laudate Dominum. Prof. August Zohlen, organist, played the Wedding March from Lohengrin.

For her wedding, the bride chose a white brocaded satin dress fashioned in Princess style and extending entrain. The square neckline was trimmed with two clusters of pearls and a Queen Elizabeth collar with buttons down the back to the waistline. Her silk tulle veil, which was edged with lace, fell from a lace cap designed with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and sweet peas tied with white ribbon.

Miss Lillian Barrette, a friend of the bride, who attended as maid of honor, wore a floor-length yellow mousseline de soie gown fashioned in tunic style. Both the neckline and tunic were trimmed with double ruffles of the same material. Her gown was complemented with a picture hat of yellow hairbraid and velvet ribbon. Pink sweet peas and yellow snapdragons designed her bouquet which was made up with lavender lace.

Two bridesmaids also preceded the bride to the altar, and they were Miss Marion Ploetz, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Virginia Burkard, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were dressed alike in floor-length gowns of green mousseline de soie patterned in Colonial style with ruffled trains. They wore green hairbraid picture hats trimmed with green tulle and green and yellow pompons. Their flowers consisted of yellow snapdragons and babybreath.

Clad in a yellow taffeta dress with a circular skirt of rows of lace, little Shirley Mae Skarda, sister of the bride, attended as flower girl. Her frock was accented with a yellow mousseline de soie hair ribbon, yellow anklets, and white sandals. She carried a basket of assorted flowers.

Master Kenneth Kellner, cousin of the bridegroom, who attended as ring bearer, was dressed entirely in white, his man-like suit being fashioned with a pleated back, double breasted style with short trousers. He carried both rings in a calla lily.

The bride entered the church with her father who gave her in marriage. She was met at the altar by the bridegroom and his brother, Frederick Ploetz, the best man.

Ushers were Alwyn Skarda, brother of the bride, and Robert Ploetz, brother of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Skarda, the bride's mother, was attired in an aqua blue lace gown with brown accessories, while Mrs. Ploetz, the mother of the bridegroom, , was gowned in pink lace with white accessories. Both women wore corsages of mixed flowers.

Breakfast, dinner, and supper were served to the immediate families and members of the bridal party. The table was centered with a beautiful large wedding cake.

This evening, a reception is being held for approximately 100 people in the Turner hall annex. The decorations are attractively carried out with cut flowers consisting of bridal-wreath, peonies, and iris.

Mr. and Mrs. Ploetz will spend their honeymoon in Chicago and after July 15 they will be at home to their many friends at 1705 Seaman avenue. For going away, the bride will wear a yellow knit dress trimmed with brown, and complemented with a white swagger coat and white accessories. The young couple plan to be away for about a week.

Previous to her marriage, the bride was feted at numerous lovely pre-nuptial parties. Both she and the bridegroom are graduates of the Sheboygan High School and active members of the Sheboygan Gymnastic society.

Schneider and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ruesch, Miss Lorraine Sebastian, Gordon Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Drollinger and family, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. William Ploetz and son of Durand, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Skarda and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Skarda and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Schindler, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Koch, all of Manitowoc, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oglin and family of Hingham.
