Miss Marlene Schaafs And Theodore Zimmermann Marry

The wedding service for Miss Marlene M. Schaafs and Theodore H. Zimmermann was performed Saturday, at 11 o'clock, at St. Peter Claver Church rectory. The Rev. Robert M. Hoeller officiated at the ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Schaafs, 920 Ashland Ave., and the son of Mrs. Hilda Zimmermann, 1519 Illinois Ave., and the late Theodore Zimmermann.

For her wedding, the bride wore a ballerina-length gown of rosepoint lace, which was fashioned with a scoop neckline edged in tiny lace flowers, long pointed sleeves and a full tulle skirt, with deep, pointed appliqued inserts of lace from the waist to the hemline. The bride's silk illusion veil fell from a lace half-hat with bow and seed pearl trim and she carried a cascade of stephanotis centered with a white orchid.

Mrs. Arno Albrecht, the bride's sister, served as matron of honor, and had a dress of flocked organza with a bateau neckline, a fitted bodice with bow trim and a modified princess line skirt. The turquoise-colored gown was enhanced by a cascade bouquet of pink amling roses and feathered white carnations.

As best man at the wedding, the bridegroom chose James Plier.

Dinner was served at Johnnie's Restaurant on Hwy. 141 for 22 persons and a reception and buffet supper at the VFW Hall were held for 300 relatives and friends.

After May 17, the newly-married couple will be at home at 1139 Swift Ave. The destination of their wedding trip was not revealed.

The bride and bridegroom are graduates of Central High School. The former works in the office of the Lakeland Mfg. Co. and the bridegroom is employed at the Vollrath Co.

Those attending the event from a distance were residents of Chicago and Downers Grove, Ill, Menominee Falls, Neenah, Cudahy, Milwaukee and Manitowoc.
