Miss Julie A. Dortman Is Wed To Douglas F. Teumer

After a wedding trip to Topeka, Kan., Mr. and Mrs. Douglas F. Teumer have returned to Sheboygan. They were married at Ebenezer United Church of Christ at 3 o'clock on the afternoon of Saturday, May 20. The bride is the former Julie A. Dortman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dortman, 1604-A N. 19th St. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Milton Teumer, 1614 North Ave. Officiant of the service was the Rev. Ruben G. Grosshuesch. Two numbers, "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Lord Is My Shepherd," were sung by twin cousins of the bride, Mrs. Donald Zimmermann and Mrs. Ray Kieselhorst of Manitowoc. The organist was Miss Anita Nonhof.

Mrs. Roger M. Crocker came from Topeka to be the matron of honor in the wedding party in which Miss Linda Teumer, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Susan Rudolph, the bride's cousin, were the bridesmaid duo.

Honor attendant wore a white organza over apricot taffeta frock that was made with a shirred, floor-length skirt. Back interest was the apricot taffeta panel with rosette trim and streamers. The fitted scalloped, short-sleeved bodice and a cowl-roll collar were part of the styling. She complemented her attire with a matching open crown picture hat of horsehair braid with a back bow. A white lace umbrella adorned with green tinted carnations and ribbons, was carried.

Their gowns and hats similar to those of Mrs. Crocker, except in a Nile green shade, the bridesmaids had apricot-shade carnations and ribbons on their umbrellas.

Another in the procession, Vonnie Kramer, the bride's cousin, appeared as a miniature bride.

Italian pure silk was the fabric of the wedding gown, fashioned with a fitted bodice, long, tapered sleeves and a tulip petal neckline. The princess line of the gown continued to a sweeping bustle back and had a jeweled Alencon lace trim. The seed pearl and crystal crown held the fingertip-length veil of silk illusion. She held an arrangement of yellow and white roses in the form of a cross. Her father escorted her and presented her in marriage. David Schultz was chosen as best man. The two groomsmen were Bill Lee Dortman, cousin of the bride, and Phillip Dann. Uncles of the couple, Godfried Kramer, and Gottlieb Goldman, ushered guests to places.

A wedding reception at Johnny's Restaurant on Highway 141 was held and 275 persons were served a supper. Guests were present from St. Louis, Mo., places in Kansas and Iowa, Chicago, Ill., Antigo, Waupun, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac and Manitowoc.

Friday evening, the bridegroom's parents entertained at the rehearsal supper, also at Johnny's Restaurant.

In 1959, the bride was graduated from North High School, her husband the previous year. She is a bookkeeper at Ebenreiter Lumber Co., and Mr. Teumer is a route man for Art Imig's Cleaning and Dyeing Inc.
