Eugene Hendrikse Claims Penelope Teumer As Bride

The home of a couple married Saturday, Miss Penelope Sue Teumer and Eugene E. Hendrikse, is to be St. Louis, Mo., where they will be located after Sept. 12. St. Paul's Lutheran Church was the scene of the 4 o'clock service read by the Rev. Arnold Wenger. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Teumer, 1614 North Ave., and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hendrikse, 1720 Alexander Ct. were principals. Two bouquets of white carnations adorned the altar.

For the processional, Eugene Sattler, organist, played "Trumpet Voluntare." The soloist, Elroy Begalke, sang "O Perfect Love" and "Song of Ruth." Bridal aids - five in number- preceded the entrance of the bride and her father, who presented her in marriage. Mrs. Wayne Dickfoss, cousin of the bride, Miss Julie Dortman, bridesmaids, with two in junior roles, Linda Teumer and Kathleen Goldman, sister and cousin of the bride, and the matron of honor, Mrs. A. E. Rusin, Des Moines, Iowa, an aunt of the bride, were in the procession.

Their attire was designed and made by the bride's mother. White embroidered organdy over white taffeta were combined as fabrics. The Sabrina necklines, short sleeves, fitted bodices and bouffant skirts with inserts of silk organza, front and back of the waltz-length skirts, were details of styling. The bridegroom's mother made the headpieces of purple velvet bows with white veils. Each carried a bouquet of orchid-colored feathered carnations and purple glamellias in cascade style and with ribbons to match headbows. Short, shirred sleeves and scoop necklines with jeweled Alencon motifs forming the neckline were details of the bride's white nylon organza-over-taffeta gown, which had a fitted bodice and bouffant, floor-length skirt with motifs for front interest and flowing ruffled train with more of the motifs for back interest. A bridal queen's crown of iridescent crystal pearls, trimmed with rhinestones, held the three-tier, fu ll veil of imported silk illusion that extended to the elbows. In cascade style, the bridal bouquet was designed of white stephanotis and green ivy. Mr. Teumer presented his daughter in marriage.

Among the five other participants were three brothers of the couple. Robert Hendrikse was asked to assume the duties of best man; Douglas Teumer and Roger Peterson, Chicago, Ill., a fraternity brother of the bridegroom, were in roles of groomsmen. Another duo, Wayne Dickfoss, cousin of the bride, and Donald Van De Kreeke, did the ushering.

A reception for 200 guests was preceded by the buffet supper at the YMCA. They came from Des Moines, Iowa, Oak Creek, Cicero and Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee and Campellsport.

Both the bride and bridegroom were graduated from North High School, class of 1956. The former Miss Teumer is employed in the main office of Wigwam Mills Inc. Her husband in August completed his studies at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Ill. He is affiliated with Pi Kappa Pho Fraternity. Monsanto Chemical Co. in St. Louis is where he will be working.
