Eugene Walter Koll Claims Miss Shelby Neese As Bride
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church was the setting for the marriage ceremony of
Miss Shelby Jean Neese and Eugene Walter Koll. They repeated vows before the
Rev. Robert Ehlers in a 2:30 o'clock service Saturday afternoon.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Neese, 1227 N. 37th St.
Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Koll, Route 3, S. 12th St.
Vases of carnations and gladioli were used on the altar of the church.
Music was provided by Mrs. Melvin Hoffman, organist, and Kenneth Ehle,
vocalist, whose numbers were "The Lord's Prayer" and "Wedding Prayer."
Trio of attendants comprised Miss Karen Koll, the bridegroom's sister, who
appeared in mint green and white, Miss Nancy Dexheimer, bridesmaid, and
Bonnie Neese, sister of the bride, in a junior role. They were dressed in
pink and white gowns. Dresses of the three were white nylon organza with
Sabrina necklines, fitted bodices and bouffant, street-length skirts.
Embroidery cascades extended over the bodices and fronts of the skirts.
Taffeta cummerbunds and white streamers for back interest were other details
of styling. Pixie cap-style headpieces with leaves and vines were
pearl-trimmed. Silk illusion face veils matched the trim on the dresses.
Each held matching umbrellas of pink carnations and demure roses.
A nylon organza, floor-length gown was worn by the bride and its design
included the Sabrina neckline, gathered sleeves and ruffles on the back of
the skirt. The front of the skirt was adorned with three appliques. Sequins
trimmed the neckline. Matching mitts were worn. Her lace cap-style
headpiece had pearls and organza bows for trimming and pleated nylon tubing
extended across it. Imported French illusion with hand-rolled edge comprised
the elbow-length veil. Flowers carried by the bride were white carnations,
stephanotis and pink demure roses, in an elongated cascade style. Her father
presented her in marriage.
Best man in the wedding party was Ronald Hamann. The groomsmen, Charles Koll
and Dale Neese, brothers of the couple, were also the ushers.
Supper for 250 guests was served at Standard Hall, the place of the reception.
Mr. Koll and his bride are not making their wedding trip plans known but they
will be residing at 3118A N. 27th St. Both are graduates of Central High
School, the bride in 1959, the bridegroom the previous year. She is employed
at Jung Shoe Co., he at Rway Furniture Co., Inc.
