Miss Doris Claybaker Is Bride Of Ferdinand Bahr

The wedding scene Saturday evening for a 6 o'clock service in which Miss Doris Calybaker and Ferdinand Bahr repeated vows was Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Karl Schulz read the marriage ceremony. Bouquets of white gladioli and pompons on the altar were the decor.

Principals in the nuptials were the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Claybaker, 1202 N. 16th St., and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bahr, 3026 Kohler Memorial Dr.

Before the ceremony, three choral preludes, Mark Bangert playing the oboe, and Mrs. Richard Schumacher, the organ, were "Blessed Jesus at Thy Word," "Lord, Thee I Love With All My Heart," by Krebs, and "Now Thank We All Our God," by Bach. The processional was sung by the soloist, Mrs. Jerome Heisdorf, and was "Rhosymedre," by Vaughn Williams. Another number she did was "Blessed Jesus at Thy Word," by Walther. A hymn sung by the congregation was "With the Lord Begin Thy Task." The recessional was "Trumpet Voluntary in D," by Purcell.

Bridal attire was a floor-length gown of lace over satin with a mandarin collar and long sleeves of lace. The bodice was trimmed with iridescent sequins and seed pearls and the full skirt was designed with tiers of ruffled lace on the sides and panels of lace in front and in back. The fingertip veil was held by a crown of iridescent sequins and seed pearls. A cascade bouquet carried by the bride was a combination of white carnations and stephanotis. Her father presented her in marriage.

Mrs. William Bahr came from Lombard, Ill., to be matron of honor. She is the bridegroom's sister-in-law. A ballerina length pink cotton with nylon over the full skirt was the attire of the attendant. A band of eyelet embroidery was inset on the nylon. The sleeveless dress has a square neckline. A deep pink cummerbund sash with a large bow in back was another detail of styling. She carried a cascade bouquet of ice blue carnations and wore a headband of matching flowers.

Others in the wedding party were the best man, Marvin Hueller, and the two ushers, brothers of the couple, William Am End Bahr from Lombard, Ill., and Richard Claybaker.

Following the ceremony, a buffet supper at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church took place at which 200 guests were present.

Cleveland, Ohio, will be the city in which the bridal pair will be living after Aug. 15. The bride was a student at Valparaiso University and was graduated from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Ill., class of 1956. She is a teacher at St. Paul Lutheran School in Cleveland. The bridegroom also was enrolled in Valparaiso University and was a student at Concordia Seminary in Springfield, Ill. He will be a vicar at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cleveland.
