Miss Judy Jankow Repeats Vows With Richard Daane
The double-ring service for Miss Judy Jankow and Richard Daane Saturday
afternoon was read in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, by the
Rev. Adelbert Schulz. Two all-white bouquets of snapdragons and
chrysanthemums were placed on the altar.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Jankow, R. 1, Newton, are the bride's parents and the
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Daane, R. 1, Oostburg.
Organist for the 2 o'clock ceremony was Miss Charmaine Sohn and the soloist,
Miss Rogene Freis, did two selections, "The Lord's Prayer" and "Because."
Three bridal aids were in the procession and were in identical attire -
princess style sheaths in a fiesta color of crystal satin with Schiffli
embroidery trimming the bodice. Sleeves were elbow-length and the neckline
was scooped. A detachable floor-length overskirt had a self bow and
streamers at the waistline. Each donned a nylon chiffon skull cap accented
with pearls and drop crystals to which an illusion tulle face veil was
attached. They held colonial-style bouquets of white carnations and red
roses with white streamers. Those serving as attendants were Miss Gloria
Jankow, the bride's sister, chosen as maid of honor; Miss Barbara Daane,
similarly related to the bridegroom, with Miss Peggy Hermann, Sheboygan, had
roles of bridesmaids.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white floor-length, princess-style
dress, fashioned of nylon sheer over taffeta. Re-embroidered lace applique
and scrolls of seed pearls and crystal beads adorned the center panel. A
modified scoop neckline, a chapel-sweep train, a butterfly bow, with seed
pearls accenting the streamers, further detailed the gown. Rosepoint lace,
outlined in seed-pearls, topped by a cluster of lace rose petals, held a
bouffant fingertip veil. Better times roses with streamers of white ribbon
formed the long, cascade bouquet.
Donald Gabrielse, R. 1, Oostburg, as best man, stood with the two groomsmen,
Peter Daane and Paul Van Driest, both of Oostburg. A cousin of the bride,
Robert Gosse, Kohler, with the bridegroom's brother, Ronald Daane, were
ushers.
Buffet supper and reception for the couple were entertainment for 350 guests
and were held at Schneider's Hall at Edwards.
A wedding trip is being taken to Florida and address of the Daanes, after
March 15, is to be 2415 N. 8th St., Sheboygan. The bride was graduated from
Kiel High School in 1962 and is a bookkeeper at Citizens Bank of Sheboygan.
An employee of Daane Roofing and Siding, the bridegroom received his diploma
from Oostburg High School in 1959.
