TWO PROMINENT YOUNG PEOPLE

MARRIED AT ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH IN MITCHELL WEDNESDAY, ATTORNEY F. J. ROONEY OF SEYMOUR AND MISS MARGARET O'CONNELL OF BEECHWOOD

A notable wedding took place at St. Michael's church in Mitchell, at ten o'clock, Wednesday morning, by which two of the oldest and best known families of that section were united in marriage. The principals in the affair were Francis J. Rooney, the well-known attorney of Seymour, and Miss Margaret O'Connell. Rev. Father Bastian of Seymour performed the ceremony and celebrated nuptial high mass. Rev. Burke was also present.

Will Murphy, of Milwaukee, cousin of the groom, acted as groomsman and Miss Rose O'Connell of Janesville, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid The bride was becomingly attired in white chiffon trimmed with valencinnes lace, her veil was of tulle and she carried lilies of the valley, while her bridesmaid's dress was of white organdie trimmed with valencinnes lace. She wore a large white hat and her flowers were white roses.

The choir was composed of the bride's three brothers, Andy of Beechwood, Dr. Dan of Menasha, and Dr. James of Bear Creek, the two latter being twins, and of her sister, Mrs. James Hughes of Sheboygan and Miss Margaret Stokes, who took the bride's place. Mrs. Nick Pesch was the organist.

A reception was held at the home of the bride's brother, Andy, which was attended by sixty relatives. A caterer from Janesville furnished the dinner and supper. The dining room was decorated in white carnations and green, a bell being suspended over the center of the table. The parlor was in white roses and the sitting room in pink carnations. During the afternoon the O'Connell brothers and sisters played on different instruments and also sang.

On Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Rooney started for Niagara Falls and will be gone some time. After August 1, they will be home to their friends at Appleton, as the groom has an extensive law practice in that city as he has in Seymour.

The young people left the county showered with the congratulations and best wishes of their many friends.

MARRIAGE PARTY

GIVEN A LARGE RECEPTION AT THE HOME OF THE BRIDE AT BEECHWOOD (1906)

On Wednesday, June 27th occurred the marriage of Miss Margaret O'Connell, of Beechwood and Attorney Francis J. Rooney, of Seymour, Wis. The wedding ceremony was performed at St. Michael's Catholic church Mitchell, by Rev. Father Bastian of Seymour, assisted by Rev. Father Burke of Cascade. The maid of honor was Miss Rose O'Connell of Janesville, Wis., and the groomsman William Murphy of Milwaukee.

At the conclusion of the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the home of the bride at Beechwood where a wedding dinner was served and a reception held from noon until four o'clock. About seventy relatives of the contracting parties were present and a few intimate friends of the parties. The home was beautifully decorated with a profusion of flowers, smilax and festoons. The spacious well kept lawn of the O'Connell home was the scene of one of the happiest wedding parties which have assembled in this county for many years. Several group photos were taken during the afternoon. Many fine selections of vocal and instrumental music were rendered.

Mr. and Mrs. Rooney took the train at Plymouth for an extended trip east and expect to be at home after August 10th.

Among the guests from out of town were John O'Connell, wife and family of Kalispell, Mont.; Dr. Daniel O'Connell of Menasha; Dr. Jas. O'Connell of Bear Creek; Joseph O'Connell of Wauwautosa (sic) all brothers of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Hughes of Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Stack of Eden; Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Rooney of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. M. Crosby, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Rooney, Miss Agnes Rooney, and Mrs. and Mrs. Peter Murphy and Emily of Plymouth; Miss Rose McManus of Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. (?)as Rooney of Plymouth; Mrs. T. McGee and children of Madison, S.D.; Mrs. J. F. O'Hara of Holland and Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Mangan of Fond du Lac.

Both the bride and groom were born and reared in this county and have friends without number and are deservedly among the most popular and highly respected young people in Sheboygan county. Miss O'Connell is the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John O'Connell and Mr. Rooney is a son of Ellen Rooney and the late Thomas Rooney, of Mitchell. Mr. Rooney has a well established and lucrative practice at Seymour and is a young man of sterling qualities. His choice of a life's partner robs us of one of our best and fairest but our loss will be a distinctive gain to the community to which the ties of love now bind (them).
