RUSSELL
SMITH-KOHLMAN
A very pretty fall wedding occurred at St. Ann's Catholic church, Tuesday
morning at 9:30 o'clock when Miss Marian Smith became the bride of Ralph
Kohlman of St. Cloud. The impressive nuptial high mass was read by Rev. J.
H. Schmitt.
The bride was very charming in a gown of seal brown brocaded velvet trimmed
with gold lace cloth and a picture hat to correspond. She carried an arm
bouquet of gold chrysanthemums.
The attendants to the bride were Miss Olive Kohlman, sister of the groom, as
maid of honor, and Miss Kathryn Crosby, the bride's cousin, as bridesmaid.
The maid of honor wore a becoming gown of blue faile crepe and wore a
corsage of roses, sweet peas and swansonia, while the bridesmaid was
attractively attired in a gown of tan crepe faile and wore a corsage of
roses, sweet peas and swansonia. The flower girl, little Elizaberth Puhr of
Neenah, wore (a) pretty pink crepe de chine dress and carried a basket of
pink rose buds.
The attendants to the groom were Harry Smith, the bride's brother, who was
best man and Val Kohlman, the groom's brother as groomsman.
Following the wedding service at the church a reception was held at the home
of the bride's mother. The decorations were in gold, pink and white with
autumn leaves and wedding bells. The reception was featured by an elaborate
five course wedding dinner. Sixty invited guests were present.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Margaret Smith of Russell, a graduate of
the Kiel High school and of the Oshkosh Normal and one of the most
successful teachers of Sheboygan county. The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Kohlman of St. Cloud. He attended the St. Lawrence College at
Calvary, and is an industrious young man, held in high esteem of all who
know him. Since leaving college he has been employed as cashier of the St.
Cloud Bank.
The newlyweds left Tuesday afternoon, thinking they had stolen a march on
their friends, but the antics of the merrymakers at the wedding forced them
to return and take a proper farewell before leaving for their honeymoon to
part(s) unknown. The out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Kohlman, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kohlman, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Kohlman and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kohlman, Alive, Val. and Emil Kohlman of St.
Cloud; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Berenz and family of Glenbeulah; Mr. and Mrs.
Karls of Charlesburg; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Crosby, Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy, Miss
Alecia Smith, Miss Dolia Crosby, Miss Blanche Bowser and John Murphy of
Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. John Crosby and daughter, Kathryn of Waldo; Miss
Isabelle O'Hara of Random Lake; Attorney and Mrs. E. H. Puhr of Neenah; Mr.
and Mrs. John Cain and Miss Jennie Cain of Kiel; Mrs. Ray Millay of Chilton;
Miss Elinore Dillman of Waldo and Miss Mildred Kennedy and Mrs. Arthur
