St. James Church was the setting Nov. 2, when Miss Patricia Ann Murphy, daughter of the Bernard Murphys of 304 Palmer Ave., Highwood, became the bride of Robert P. Issel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Issel of Deerfield. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. James D. Gleeson officiated at the noon ceremony.

The bride's gown of silk bombazine was fashioned with a portrait neckline trimmed with Chantilly lace. A deep hem of Chantilly lace trimmed the full skirt of her gown, which swept into a chapel train. A princess crown of pearls held her fingertip veil. Her bouquet was a white orchid with a cascade of carnations.

Miss Rosemary Moran of Highland Park, maid of honor, was gowned in forest green satin and she carried a colonial bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaids, similarly attired in forest green satin, included Miss Carol Baruffi of Highwood; Miss Carol Issel of Chicago, a cousin of the bridegroom; and Miss Kaye Mullaney of Wheeling. They carried garnet roses fashioned in colonial bouquets.

David Witten of Lake Bluff served as best man. Ushers included Julius Monge of Gurnee, cousin of the bride; Kenneth and William Issel, brothers of the bridegroom; David Simpson of Highland Park and Daniel Cowgill of Deerfield.

Mrs. Murphy selected a gown of ice-blue lace for her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Issel was attired in pink lace. Both women wore white orchid corsages.

A reception was held in the evening at the Highwood Community Center.

After a wedding trip to Miami, Fla. the couple will reside at 319 Euclid Ave., Highwood. Mrs. Issel and her husband are graduates of Highland Park High School.
