DeSombre - Engelhardt

Miss Clemawelle DeSombre and Lester A. Engelhardt exchanged marriage vows, Sunday evening, in St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. E.R. Krueger officiated at the 7:30 p.m. candlelight service.

Seated in the front pews were parents of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand DeSombre, 2220 N. Tenth street, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Engelhardt, 1634 N. Twelfth street.

Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. J. Nelson Jung, organist, presented a short recital of appropriate music, and before the entrance of the bridal party, the Girls' choir sang "Tell Me Why." During the nuptials the same group presented "Because," and following the marriage, Miss Janet Fistler, soloist, sang "The Lord's Prayer."

The bride was escorted to the front of the church by her father. She was preceded by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Oliver DeSombre of Milwaukee, as matron of honor, Mrs. Edgar Engelhardt, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Miss Marion Engelhardt, his niece, as bridesmaid, and Julianne DeSombre, the bride's niece of Milwaukee, who was the junior attendant.

Nick Kochelmeier served as best man, and ushers were Oliver DeSombre and Edgar Engelhardt, brothers of the couple.

On Saturday evening, parents of the bride entertained at the bridal dinner at the Grand Hotel, and Sunday evening, following the service, relatives and friends gathered at the 99 hall for the reception.

Mr. Engelhardt and his bride have left on a two weeks' honeymoon, the destination of which was not disclosed. After July 15, they will be residing in their newly furnished flat at 1632 N. Twelfth street. The bride, who has been associated with the church in which she was married for a number of years, is employed at the Hand Knit Hosiery Co. Her husband works for the Armour Leather Co.
