Miss Barbara Gehrig Is Bride Of Terry J. Gartman

Saturday, Miss Barbara Gehrig exchanged vows of marriage with Terry J. Gartman in a 9 a.m. ceremony at Holy Name Catholic Church. The Rev. Anthony J. Knackert celebrated the nuptial high mass.

Sister Mary Edmund accompanied the vocalist, Mrs. Marie S. Dohms, when she sang, "Ave Maria" and "On This Day." School children sang the mass. For the occasion white gladioli decorated the altar.

Miss Gehrig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund F. Gehrig, 1518 N. 9th St., selected for her wedding attire an embroidered nylon organza gown with an apron front and a ruffled tiered back, ending in a chapel sweep train. The dress also featured a square neckline with scalloped embroidery, short sleeves and a fitted bodice. The floor-length skirt was edged with embroidery trim. A fingertip Frence illusion veil was attached to a queen's crown that was trimmed with sequins and rhinestones. Her bouquet was a cascade arrangement of pink demure roses and white stephanotis. The bride's father presented her in marriage to the son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Gartman, 2916 Wedermeyer St.

Sister of the bride, Mrs. Ed. Renaud, Appleton, was matron of honor. She wore a ballerina length dress with a scoop neckline, torso bodice and a shirred skirt of embroidered silk in white on pink. She carried a colonial bouquet of red garnet roses, surrounded by pink carnations. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Karl Schultz, sister of the bride, a sister of the bridegroom, Miss Mary Jo Gartman and Miss Mary Schipper. They were gowned identically to the matron of honor. The attendants all wore crowns of green foliage and flowers, which corresponded to their bouquets.

Brother of the bridegroom, Gene Gartman, was chosen as best man. Karl Schultz, a brother-in-law of the bride, Thomas Fredericks and Kenneth Leitner attended as groomsmen. Brothers of the bride, Donald Gehrig, Madison, and Paul Gehrig, Whitewater, assisted as ushers.

A luncheon was served to 150 guests at the Foeste Hotel from 12 to 1 p.m. and was followed by a reception there until 3 o'clock.

Details of the wedding trip were not disclosed and the couple will reside out of the city after Sept. 15.

The former Miss Gehrig is a 1956 graduate of North High School and was employed at Hayssen Mfg. Co., in the office. The bridegroom is a graduate of Central High School, class of '55, attended the University of Wisconsin Extension Center in Sheboygan for one year and is employed at Western Electric Co.

Out-of-city guests were present from Madison, La Crosse, Appleton, Whitewater, Manitowoc, Waukesha, New Holstein and Chilton.
