Miss Noreen Nennig Is Bride of Gene Gartman

St. Peter Claver Church was the setting Saturday morning for the 11 o'clock marriage ceremony of Miss Noreen Nennig and Gene N. Gartman. The Rev. Robert M. Hoeller read the nuptial service.

Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Nennig, 712 St. Clair Ave., the bride was given in marriage by her father to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy Gartman, 2335 S. 10th St.

The bride's lace gown in ballerina length featured a satin underskirt and a short bolero jacket with a Peter Pan collar and long sleeves pointed at the wrist. Her fingertip veil was attached to a beaded Juliet cap and she carried a bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis.

Mrs. Harry Frick was matron of honor for her sister and donned a mint green ballerina dress of tulle and net with a crystalette bolero. She held a bronze floral arrangement in a wicker kissing ring. Coral gowns, fashioned identically, were attire of the bridesmaids, Miss Helen Leibham and Mary Jo Gartman, sister of the bridegroom. The later was in a junior capacity. Yellow flowers adorned the wicker kissing rings they carried.

Attendants for the bridegroom, besides the best man, Terry Gartman, his brother, were Jerome Gosse and Michael Nennig, the bride's brother in a junior role. Ushers were Harry Frick, brother-in-law of the bride, and Benjamin Forsterling. Musical numbers during the ceremony were "Ave Maria" and "On This Day, O Beautiful Mother," sung by Mrs. Ed. Hiebing and Mrs. Henry Hiebing. The organist was Prof. Joseph Feustel.

Brunch for the bridal party and immediate families was held at the home of the bride's parents. Thirty-five guests were entertained at dinner at Kneevers Hotel and the evening reception was held in the Panther Room of the Playdium.

Destination of the wedding trip was not revealed. Beginning today, Mr. Gartman and his bride are residing at 2335-A S. 10th St. A 1952 graduate of North High School, the bride is an office clerk at Nemschoff Chairs Inc. Her husband received his diploma from Central High School in 1950 and has completed four years service with the U.S. Navy. He is employed by Rway Furniture Co.

Wedding guests were from Hammond, Ind., Chicago and Freeport, Ill., La Crosse, Manitowoc, Eagle River and New London, Wis.
