Holy Name Church Scene Of Pretty Wedding This A.M.

A pretty wedding was solemnized this morning at 8 o'clock in the Holy Name Catholic church when Miss Laura Gartmann, daughter of Mrs. Charles Gartmann, 1936 North Tenth street, was united in marriage to Clemens Acker, son of Mrs. John Acker, 1431 North Tenth street.

Promptly at the appointed hour, the bridal party entered the church to the strains of the wedding processional played by August Zohlen, organist at the church. The bridal party was led by the maid of honor and bridesmaid, followed by the flower girls and the ringbearer. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Charles Gartmann, from Shawano, and was met at the chancel by the groom and best man. They then proceeded to the altar, where the ceremony was performed by the Rev. D. F. Thill.

During the nuptial mass the choir sang "Ave Verum" and "All For Thee, O Heart of Jesus." When the bridal party left the church the wedding march from "Lohengrin" was played.

The bride wore a gown of bride's satin crepe and embroidered net. Her tulle veil was made en train and caught with swansonia. She carried a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses and swansonia.

Miss Rose Gartmann, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a pale green organdie dress and carried an arm bouquet of roses and swansonia. The bridesmaid was Miss Marie Acker, cousin of the groom, and wore a pink organdie dress. Her flowers were an arm bouquet of roses and forget-me-nots. The little Misses Virginia Klein and Magdeline Dressen, cousins of the groom were the flower girls. They wore pink dresses, made in butterfly style and carried baskets of roses and forget-me-nots. Master Roman Mersberger, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer. He wore a white embroidered suit and carried the rings on a white satin, handpainted pillow.

Frank Gartman of Waukesha, brother of the bride, was the best man and the groom's only attendant.

After the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride's parents where a wedding breakfast was served and at noon a wedding dinner was served to the relatives and a few friends of the couple. The decorations were uniquely carried out in pink and white, cut flowers being in profusion. Mr. and Mrs. Acker are both popular young people. The groom holds a position at the Honold Electric company and is a young man of sterling qualities.

The happy couple will depart some time this evening on an automobile honeymoon trip to Milwaukee, where they will be met by Miss Clara Gartmann, of the Notre Dame convent, who was unable to attend the nuptials. They will then proceed to Holy Hill, where they will spend a few days, then return to Milwaukee and from there go to the Dells of Wisconsin and other places of interest.

The out-of-town guests here for the nuptials were: Mr. and Mrs. George Braun, Oostburg, Mrs. John Haynes, Milwaukee; Miss Rose Kres, Cleveland, and Mr. and Mrs, Charles A. Gartmann and son, Charles, Jr., of Shawano.

Mr. and Mrs. Acker will be at home to their many friends after July 15 in their furnished flat on New York avenue and Fifth street.
