Miss Gartman Weds Saturday
Miss Gertrude Helen Gartman and Captain Joseph M. Rollinger of the U.S. army
were wed Saturday morning in a 10 o'clock nuptial high mass held at Holy Name
church. The Rev. Raymond Sochurek was the celebrant.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter F. Gartman, 1402 N. Twelfth
street. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Rollinger, parents of the bridegroom, came from
Port Washington to be present at the ceremony.
For her maid of honor, the bride had her cousin, Miss Vivian Fritz.
Bridesmaids were Miss Hildegarde Hoffman and Mrs. Florence Sternberg.
Lt. John J. Rollinger attended his brother as best man. Another brother,
Francis Rollinger, and one similarly related to the bride, Gerald Gartman,
were groomsmen.
Fifty guests were served a wedding dinner at the Grand Hotel, and at the
reception held at Liederkranz hall, 150 relatives and friends were present.
Following a wedding trip, the destination of which is not being disclosed,
the couple will be at home in Milwaukee after Dec. 1.
The former Miss Gartman has her diploma from Central High school, and was
honorably discharged recently from the Waves. The bridegroom was graduated
from the school of commerce, University of Wisconsin, where he affiliated
with Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity.
