Germans From Russia
Extractions
1920 U.S. Federal Census

Sheboygan Countuy, Wisconin

This extraction was taken from microfilm number (T625-2016 and T625-2017). This enumeration was performed in January and February 1920. This extraction was performed in February of 2002. This enumeration contains 1,421 individuals in approximately 241 households.

The critereia for extraction is that either the individual or one of their parents had to be German who came from Russia.

The format has been changed slightly in the extraction. The occupation field has been removed and the Town/Twp column has been inserted. This column now contains the township (abbreviated Twp) or the Towns or cities. Sheboygan County is divided into towns and townships. This extraction contains the City of Sheboygan.

There were a number sheets of the this census where the handwriting that you could not read the Surnames, Given Names or Places of Birth. There were 17 households where neither the surname or the given names are readible. Approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of the Sheboygan County census in which the Places of Birth are not readible and therefore the names could not be extracted. There are also a number of households in which the surnames are only readible. These household are as follows. Hoese, Leonhardt, Hermann, Gebe, Schmitt, Klumhr, Mertz, Gittman, Keepe, Mathias, Wagner, Agtziger, Boess, Felior, Reiswig, Scharich, Brack and Langmann.

The spelling of surnames and given names by some of the enumerators is rather creative. I would advise all who use this extraction to be rather creative in the spelling of surnames or given names. The surnames and the given names are spelled exactly the way that they were on the census.
