Friedrich Henry (aka Gottfried, Fred) Quasius 1821-1893 and his wife Anna Catherine Koehler (?) 1833-1909 at their home on
land homesteaded in 1846(?) just north of Mohrsville (was tavern) in Town of Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan County, on the
east side of the old plank road, now Hyw 32. Originally 160 acres (?) were homesteaded, perhaps with a bother Christian
(?) who may have died on homestead, but the farm was reduced to 40 acres by 1900. 1875 Wisconsin atlas shows owner as
Fred Quasius. Les's family visited often in early 1900s.
Friedrich and Anna had at least the following children - Emma (spinster/domestic) 1854-1926, Fred (aka Fritz who was
last on the farm) 1859-1934 (mrd to Josephine 1865-1940), Henry (1866-1955) (married my grandmother's sister Alvina
Brickner (Bruechner) (1870-1951) factory worker, August 1876-1931 (bachelor/farm hand), Edwin(?) (bachelor), Mary (Mrs.
Peter Friedel of Fondulac), Louise (Mrs. Henry Erbresht tavern keeper of Tigerton), Clara (Mrs. Charles Harms tavern
keeper at Howards Grove) and George Henry 1868-1958 (my grandfather who mrd. Auguste Brickner (Bruechner) 1872-1950 (?) in
1891). William C (Wilhelm -bachelor/farmer) ) 1854-1926 also lived on property and is buried at nearby St. Luke's
cemetery with Fried, Anna, Josephine, William, Emma and August. His birthday is only 5 month later than Emma's and
therefore can not be Friedrich and Anna's son - Christian's(?)
The farm was destroyed by fire in the 1940's but the house was rebuilt on the same foundation, reusing the brick walls.
The family plot at St. Lukes overlooks the farm to the north.
