Mary Hunley, 74, of Bassett, VA
passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
Born on September 24, 1947 in Wilcoe, West Virginia she
was a daughter of the late George and Evelyn Harman Rose. Formally of
Jenkinjones, WV she had been a resident of Bassett, VA for the past 10
years and was a faithful homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, Claude Fredy Hunley, Jr.
Those left to cherish Mary's memories are her sons,
Michael Hunley and wife Pamela of Basset, VA and Claude Fredy Hunley, III
of Bassett, VA; daughters, Melissa Hill and husband Tim of Bassett, VA,
Constance May Drake of Bassett, VA, and Michelle Darlene Mitchell of
Louisiana; brother, Vernon Rose of Bramwell, WV; sisters, Edna
"Penny" Whitley of Warner Robbins, GA, Lucy Walsh of North
Tazewell, VA, and Ruthie Blankenship of War, WV; 13 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January
25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in
Bluewell with Rev. Mary Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Harman
Cemetery in Abbs Valley, VA with Tyler Drake, Jacob Foley, Austin Long,
Sammy Shatley, Ernie McGlothlin, and Jackie Rose serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Online
condolences will be accepted at www.cravens-shires.com.
