This added insight from Teri Pettit: I have some information that you might want to add to your Slusher2 page. The family listed in 1850 as Jeremiah Slusher with wife Nancy (household 816) is really Joseph H. Slusher and Nancy Wade. I have no idea why he was listed as Jeremiah in 1850 but as Joseph in all other records. Joseph and Nancys children Mahala and Peter are listed twice in the 1850 census, once in this household with their parents, and once in household 960 with their grandparents Peter Slusher and Celia White. Sometime between 1855 and 1859 Joseph and Nancy moved to Morgan Co., Ky, with their daughters Margaret, Celia, Samantha and Martha. Mahala and Peter stayed behind with their grandparents. (Three sons George, Jacob and Henry all died before 1860.) Mahala married Oliver Quesenberry in 1860 in Carroll Co., and lived there with him until their family moved to Kentucky to join her parents about 1878. I do not know what became of the Peter Slusher born ca 1844. Oliver Quesenberry and Mahala Slusher are my great great grandparents. My grandmothers oldest sister Mahala Hall was named after their grandmother Mahala Slusher Quesenberry.
