in Carroll County, VA, the son of Benjamin Lee and Kitty Maude (Webb)
Simpkins. On Sept. 1, 1934, he married Marie (Beauchamp) LaPrairie in Ann
Arbor; she preceded him in death August 28, 1980. Glenn retired from the Ford
Motor Company in 1968, where he had worked since 1925. He was an active
member of the Ford Old Timers' Club, was a member of the Dearborn Historical
Society, and a past member of the Detroit Yacht Club. He is survived by four
sons, three daughters, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Funeral
services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 1994 at the Ochalek-Stark
Funeral Home, Milan with Rev. George Tiefel of the Immanuel Lutheran Church
of South Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan,
MI. Friends may call at the Funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 2-5

Noah Simpkins and Dora Hylton Simpkins. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Bentley Altizer and by two brothers, Archie and Willard Simpkins.
Surviving are son Darrell Altizer, brothers Clarence Simpkins, Atlanta, Ga.;
Millard Simpkins, Pulaski, Va., Joel Simpkins, Pulaski, Va., Paul Simpkins,
Buchanan, Va. and six grandchildren. 2009 Death: 3-10-2009 Pulaski Co., VA. 2009 Burial: Trail Family Cemetery, Hiwassee, Pulaski Co., VA.

"Keno" Bennett Jr. 63, of Point Pleasant, was dead on arrival
Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Hospital. He was an employee of the
W. Va. Malleablle Iron Co., with 42 years service and was an ordained
minister of the Church of God Mission. He also attended the Creston United
Methodist Church. Surviving: wife. Myrtle,

left this life for a better one early in the morning of Sunday, Nov. 20,
2005. A Pleasant Valley Nursing
home resident for eight years, she was a patient at Pleasant Valley Hospital
at the time of death. Bennett was born on July
22, 1911, on Cow Creek in Putnam County, the daughter of the late Riley
Crocket and Laura Jane Poff Simpkins. In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Richard Bennett Jr.,
and their sons, James Franklin and Paul Ray. Others preceding her were
brothers, Carl Clay, Forest Vernon, Oscar Glenn and an unnamed infant sister,
Anna Laura Watkins. Also, an infant granddaughter, Latisha Renee Jones. Family left behind are son,
John Leslie (Jane) Bennett; daughters, Lois (Dayton) Shinn and Jean Swanson;
grandchildren, Rebecca (Vernon) Keefer, Roger (Khristina) Shinn, Curtis (Ruth
Ann) Shinn, Byron (Tammi) Shinn, Frank Joseph (Krissine) Bennett and Rhonda

nieces and nephews too numerous to mention and many precious family and
in-law connections. Bennett was first of all a
Christian who loved her God and His church. She was a dedicated and faithful
member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Point Pleasant as long as her
health permitted and had been a devoted helpmate to her husband during his
years of ministry in local country churches such as Shiloh, Creston and
Tabor. She continued to
participate in church services at the nursing home and enjoyed sharing the
gift of poetry that God had given to her. She began writing poetry at
the age of 10 and blessed many with her readings of the same. She was awarded
a Poetry Award of which we were all proud. She loved music and played
many instruments including the piano, accordion, harmonica and pump organ
during her youth. Bennett was the last
charter member of Mason County Chapter No. 3192 of the AARP. She was also a
member of the Fort Randolph Quilters for many years. We will miss her but would
not wish her back from her long-awaited journey. Instead, we will cherish the
time we had together and live to meet her some day. In The Master's Hand Jesus did

healing hand, Also gave peace of mind. He had compassion on the poor As he
walked beside the way; Holding five loaves and two fish He looked upward to

Roman Eagle Memorial Home last night after having been a patient there since
July. Age 68, Mrs. Simpkins was born in Texas Oct 19,
1904, a daughter of the late James Edward Stroup and Virginia Fern Stroup.
She came to Danville at an early age and was employed by Dan River Inc. Her
health forced her to retire. In 1922 she married Roy Mayson Simpkins who died
May 26, 1951. She was a member of Baptist Church and the Retired Workers Club
of Dan River and was a charter member of the Good Samaritan Club. S He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Delphia
Stone and Mrs. Roger Dalton of Danville; Mrs. Vivian Hutson and Mrs. Gee of
Greensboro, NC, and Mrs. Larry Wood of GA, two sons James Simpkins of
Greensboro and Raymond Simpkins of Danville, Mrs. Belly Fisher of San
Antonio, Texas, and five brothers: Larry Stroup of Valley Forge, Ohio, Arthur
Stroup of Norristown Pa, Robert Stroup of Damascus, Melvin Stroup of Bristol
and Earl Stroup of Yanceyville, NC; and 12 grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted a Swicegood Chapel on

73, of 135 Reuben Court, died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at Piney Forest Health
Care. He had been in declining health for the past three and one half months. Born Jan. 16, 1932, in Danville, he was the son of
the late James Elmer Simpkins Sr. and Cora Taylor Simpkins. He lived most of his life in the Danville area. He
had worked for Lawrence Distributing Co. and also for Food Lion before
retiring. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by a son, Ricky Lee Simpkins of San
Diego, Calif; a daughter, Jamie Curran of Richmond; a beloved special
daughter, Susan Gatewood of Danville; a sister, Edna Simpkins of Danville;
four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
July 19, at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dan East officiating. The
family will receive friends at the residence, 135 Reuben Court, Lot #6,
