Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 10, 2009. He was a
United States Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the Belmont
Christian Church for 49 years where he was an elder, deacon, Sunday
School teacher and a choir member. He was retired from Citizens Home
Insurance Company and 7-Up Bottling Company. He is preceded in death by his
wife, Lucy Radford; a brother, Osborne Radford; and his parents, Elkanah
and Eura Radford. Surviving are his son and
daughter-in-law, Donald and B.J. Radford, of Geneva, N.Y.; four
grandchildren, Donna Newcomb and husband, Jeff, Tracy Metzger and
husband, Richard, Kelly Marlow and husband, Robert, and Sara Thomas and
husband, Mark; seven greatgrandchildren; sister, Garnette M. Lakes, of
Roanoke, Va.; and sister-inlaw, Gertrude Radford,
of Greensboro, N.C. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m.
on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Oakeys
Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Craig Rutherford officiating. Interment will
be in Sherwood Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will

Northminster Presbyterian Church and was a retired teacher from the Roanoke
County School System with 27 years service. Surviving are her husband, Leslie M.

and Dianne N. Eary, David L. and Martha B. Eary, all of Salem; five
