Loving, 89, of Eccles, died in a local hospital yesterday afternoon, two hours after he was struck by an automobile on the Eccles-Harper road. State police who were still investigating the accident said Loving, a native of Floyd county, Va., was struck by a car driven by Jack Hilton, of Glen Rogers. It was reported to the officers that Loving was hard of hearing and probably did not hear the approaching vehicle. Hilton was not held by the officers. Loving had lived in this area 50 years, and at Eccles the past 18 years. He is survived by four sons, Charles Loving, Oakland, Cal., J. M. Loving, Eccles, W. A. Loving, Georgetown, Ill., Fred Loving, Verda, Ky., five daughters, Mrs. W. T. Shanklin, Exeter, Cal., Mrs. Howard Chandler, Huntington, Mrs. H. O. Richards, Stanaford, Mrs. J. C. Curley, Richlands, Va., and Miss Grace Loving, Eccles. Final arrangements for the funeral service, tentatively set at the Mount Tabor church, await the arrival of his children. 1941 Burial: Mount Tabor Cemetery, Raleigh Co., WVA.

Monday Afternoon June 2, 1930 front page (src: Find A Grave) Mrs. Lydia Margaret Loving, 74, of Eccles, died at her home yesterday afternoon at 5:30, the result of the infirmities of old age. She had been in poor health for some time. She is survived by her husband, E. L. Loving, four daughters, Mrs. W. T. Shanklin, who lives in California, Mrs. Herbert Richlands, of Stanaford, Mrs. J. C. Curley, of Richlands, Va., and Grace Loving, of Eccles. Four sons are living. They are Charles L. Loving, of California, Fred T. Loving, of Harlan, Ky., John Marshall Loving, of Eccles, and W. A. Loving, of Georgetown, Ill. Funeral services will be conducted from the Mt. Tabor church tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock followed by burial in the church yard. Rev. C. W. Sexton and Rev.
