was born July 25, 1925 and went home to be with God on Friday October 3,
2008. He will be sadly missed by his family. He was a member of Harvest
Baptist Church and was a long time contractor for the US Postal service. He is preceded in death by
his daughters, Sharon Gail Doyle and Dorothy Allen. He is survived by his
former spouse, Shirley Janney; sons, Mike, Howard, Rick, Homer and Kevin
Janney; daughters, Geneva Janney and special friend, George Flannagan, and
Diane Martin; sister, Angelina Whitehead. Also surviving are numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be
held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel, with the Rev. Paul White
officiating. Interment will follow in Underwood Cemetery in Floyd, Va. The
family will receive friends from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's
