Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Art Hearne. The family will receive friends from
2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lotz

after 25 years of service. He attended Penn Forest Christian Church and was
known as a Christian man who loved the outdoors, woodworking, NASCAR, and his
dog Missy Two Too. He is survived by his wife,
Irene Hill Janney; his children, Elizabeth Faye Woltereck,
Larry Janney, Rebecca J. Austin, all of Roanoke, Suzanne Lester, of
Chilhowie, Sandra Murray, of Rock Hill, S.C., Tom Ratliff, of Concord, N.C.,
Tim Ratliff, of Hayes, Sharon Smith, of Lake Wylie, S.C.; his son-in-law,
Rick Dennis, of Roanoke; brother, Gordon Janney of Rocky Mount, N.C.;
18 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will
be held at 3 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 at Penn Forest Christian Churchildren with Russell Hall officiating. The family
will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11
