Hylton, who died late Thursday at his home, 838 North Quincy, after a prolonged illness, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from Conwell's funeral home, burial in Mt. Hope cemetery. The body will lie in state at Conwell's until the funeral hour. Mr. Hylton was a fireman at No.1 station from July 21, 1917 until he was retired in March 1937. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel D. Hylton, two daughters, Dorothy and Phyllis; one son, Robert, of the home, and a son, Guy, Jr., of Inglewood, Calif.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Hylton, Dwight, Kan.; two brothers, Osby and William Hylton, of Dwight; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Hawkins, Wilmington, Ill., and Mrs. Jack Morris, of El Paso, Tex. Hylton, 47, of 508 East Fourth, a veteran of World war I, died in a local hospital Friday. Born in Council Grove, February 5, 1896, he had spent most of his life there, coming to Topeka in 1912, where he lived in 1918. Later he returned to Morris county where he lived until last October when he came to Topeka. During World war I he served with Company 5, 353d infantry, eighty-ninth division. He was a member of the Methodist church at Council Grove, the V.F.W. and the American Legion at White City. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Hylton; a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Hensley, Topeka; a son, James C. Hylton; his father, J.C. Hylton, Council Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Hawkins, Wilmington, Ill., and Mrs. Margie Morris, Ruch Hill, Mo., and three grandchildren. 1943 Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS.
