Mrs. Olivia Alice Spangler, 81, died Wednesday at her Fairlawn home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Sunrise cemetery.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. R. C. Black, Staffordsville; Mrs. W. W. Barry, Radford; Mrs. Price Chinault, Mrs. Dewey Martin, Mrs. Darrell Dalton, Fairlawn; and one son, F. L. EDEN - Odessa Howell Thomas, 83, formerly of Vintage Rd., died Saturday morning, Feb. 5, 2000, at Morehead Nursing Center.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Overlook Cemetery.

Born in Floyd Va., she was a member of Christ Church of the Brethren, a member of the Loyal Sisters Sunday school class and a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Smith of Eden; son, Robert Thomas of Eden; granddaughters, Sherry Garrett and Karen McCaslin, both of Eden; grandson, Lt. Todd Smith, USAF of Melborne, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Kara McCaslin of Eden; step-great-granddaughters, Tiffany Garrett and Kimberly McCaslin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Thomas; two brothers; and three sisters.

Mrs. Nelia Howell Lorton, widow of Will D. Lorton, died last night in the Community Hospital where she had been a patient for five weeks.

The body will remain at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Wednesday when it will be moved to the First Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be in West View Cemetery. The Rev. A. C. Meadows will conduct the services. 

Mrs. Lorton was born June 25, 1880 in Floyd County. 

Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Raymond Arthur, Mrs. Jerry Lovern and William D. Lorton, Jr., all of Radford and Charlie T. Lorton, Arlington; three grandchildren; and two brothers and one sister, J. P. Howell of Baltimore, Md.; W. NL Howell and Mrs. N. C. Wills of Radford.

Surviving are one son, Grover C Howell, Dublin; one daughter, Mrs. Nelson (Ruby), Wimmer, Christiansburg; one sister, Mrs. Eva Carter, Dublin and 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel, Radford, with the Rev. Richard Rhea officiating. Interment is at Sunrise Burial Park
