Goodson, 75, of 2216 Dearborn Av., Bluefield, died Friday September 30, 1983 at his residence after a brief illness. Born June 4, 1908 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Etta Mae Cole Goodson. He was a retired painter, a member of Trinity United Methodist church, and secretary of the Bluefield Area Bowling Association for 20 years. Survivors include his wife Alma Louise Hill Goodson; one daughter, Mrs. Terry (Ann) Hale of Bluewell; one son Harry S. Goodson, Jr. of LeHigh Acres, Fl.; one brother, Jack V. Goodson of Pulaski, Va.; one granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lawrence Sherwood and Dr. Homer Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Born March 21, 1912 at Bramwell, she was the daughter of the late Jesse F. and Maude McBride Hill. She had been a resident of Bluefield for 60 years and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bluefield. She was a graduate of the Bluefield Sanitarium Nursing School and was a retired registered nurse where she was employed by the Bluefield Sanitarium for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry S. Goodson, Sr., a brother, Clifton T. Hill and a sister Charlotte Boyd.  Survivors; son, Harry S. Goodson, Jr. of Lehigh Acres, Fl.; daughter, Mrs. Terry (Ann) Hale of Midlothian, Va.; brothers, Hugh Hill of Gahanna, Oh. and Lindy Hill of Highland Springs, Va.; sisters, Mrs. Leonard (June) Bailey of Bluefield, and Mrs. Donald (Ennice) Allen, Mrs. Mamie Bailey and Mrs. Robert (Frances) Eller, all of Bramwell; three grandchildren.  The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Dr. James Denney officiating, and burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
