William Clyde Agee, age 89, of Crab Orchard, WV, passed away at home Thursday, July 17, 2014.

Born on May 5th, 1925, in Kimball, WV, he was a son of the late Jonathan Agee and Laura Epperly Agee.

Mr. Agee was a member of the Crab Orchard Church of the Brethren, where he was a Deacon. He retired from DE State, where he was an inspector at DE State University.

Mr. Agee also served our country in the United States Navy during World War II as a gunner’s mate on the ship USS Hornet CV-12.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eugina Collison; two brothers, Emmett Agee, John Taylor Agee, and four sisters, Nannie Ruth Beach, Ola Virginia Harris, Lois Terry, and Doris Agee.

Those left to cherish his memory include sister, ...; stepdaughter, ...; two sons, ...; two step grandchildren, ..., and one grandchild, ...

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Crab Orchard Church of the Brethren with Pastors Eric Clay and Jim Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Friends may gather with the family Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church.

Ora Agee Guthrie, 96, of Salem, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Herman Guthrie. She is survived by her son, Shelton Guthrie; daughter, Judy Perdue; and grandchildren, Doug Perdue and Anne McCroskey, and her husband, Eric. She was born February 28, 1915, to Floyd and Kitty Agee and had 10 siblings. Of those, Roy Agee, Roscoe Agee, Andrew Agee, Zora Adams and Ruie Poff have preceded her in death. Surviving are Ruby Dyer, Doris Hawley, Frances Lewis, Madeline Bonham and Floyd Agee, Jr. She enjoyed a life of service and loving sacrifice, helping to raise several younger siblings, her own two children, and then playing a major role in the nurturing of her grandchildren, sharing with them her passion for cooking and sewing as well as her athletic skills. In the last few years, she graciously assumed the role of caretaker of her cherished husband. Ora was an employee of Maid Bess Corp. for ten years after her children were grown, until retirement. She was an expert seamstress with the innate ability to turn any fabric into whatever was needed, clothing, curtains, elaborate costumes, for all her fortunate and grateful family. The family thanks our friend and caregiver for the past year, Rachel Camilleri, for her devotion. We also thank Dr. Marc Nevin and his staff as well as the staff of MediHome Hospice for their caring guidance over the past few weeks. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Elder Larry Hollandsworth will officiate. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Doris Lucille Agee Hawley, 86, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2015 with her family by her side.
She was one of eleven children born in Floyd County, Va. on December 3, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James M. Hawley (Jimmy); and grandson, Adam Hawley.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, James S. Hawley 'Steve" (wife, Angela) and Teresa Kelly (husband, Paul). She is also survived by her granddaughters, Shannon Hawley Turner (husband, Brian), Cameron Kelly, and Kendall Kelly. Additionally, she will be missed by her four great-grandchildren, Alex Hawley, Ethan Deskins, Kayla Turner, and Kobe Turner, sisters, Madeline Bonham, Ruby Dyer and brother, Floyd Agee Jr.Doris (MeMaw) derived her greatest pleasure in life from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She reveled in teaching them the lost art of making homemade biscuits and "putting up" homemade jellies. She was particularly fond of retelling wonderful stories from her childhood and reminding us of the rich love their family shared even though they came from the sticks.
She would wish to offer special thank you to her loving caregivers, Shannon Turner, Brenda Ringley, Pam Cassel, Joan Wasserott and Lillian Dudley. Additionally, she greatly appreciated the staff at Raleigh Court Wellness Center and Lewis Gale MICU for their incredible love and support this past year.She will be sorely missed by all she knew.
In lieu of flowers, she loved supporting St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends between 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Oakey's North Chapel Funeral Home. The service will be held at the same location on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at noon and officiated by Elder Larry Hollingsworth. The service will conclude at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens where she will join her husband in rest.

John Posie Agee, 77, died this morning In a Radford Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Berta Agee of Salem; three daughters, Mrs. Arnold King, New River; Mrs. Doris Lowman, Front Royal; Mrs. Jeanett Lowman, Roanoke; one son, Luther W. Agee, Richmond; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Sutton, New River; four brothers, Eulas Agee, Pulaski; Ophus Agee, Glenwood Agee and Francis Agee, all of Radford nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morgan's Chapel Methodist Church conducted by the Rev, Daryl Williams, Charlie Hall and the Rev. ;Carr Jones. Interment will be in Sunrise Burial Park. The body will be taken from DeVilbiss Funeral Home to the King residence at New River at noon tomorrow and will be taken to the church one hour before the service.

Perdita Huffman Agee, age 93, passed away Saturday, July 13, 1991, at Highland Manor Nursing Home in Dublin. She was retired from the Radford Public Library and a member of Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bunyan Agee, and one daughter, Helen A. Cochran. Survivors include three sons, Frank Agee, Radford; Louis Agee, Virginia Beach; and Richard Agee, Athens, Greece; one sister, Mrs. Irene Lilly, Roanoke; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Sanders Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. C.W. Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Newbern Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Seaver-Sanders Funeral Home in Radford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. Sutphin; her five brothers, Jethel Thurman Agee, Frank A. Agee, Paul “Buster” Agee, Roy F. Agee and Lamer E. Agee; and two sisters, Bonnie B. Kirkham and Lena E. Murphy.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons and her sister.
