"Nestled at the base of the majestic Wasatch range, commanding a striking view of the scenic countryside, lies the Willard City Cemetery. Here in the picturesque setting, surrounded by the mountains and mirrored lake, lies the departed sons and daughters of Willard. "Green grass and well-placed shrubbery now mark their resting place, where, only a few years ago, sagebrush and June grass entwined with shaggy "flags" to make this hallowed plot of ground unsightly. The first that was buried in this cemetery was Mrs. Caroline Jones, wife of Zepheniah Jones. She died December 18, 1869."

The Willard Pioneer Cemetery, established in 1855, was getting short on space, so it was necessary for a "new" cemetery to be constructed. Even after this cemetery was built, many Willard residents were buried in the older cemetery until 1905. Alternatively, there were some families who wanted to be buried near each other, so some people were "transplanted" from the older cemetery to this cemetery (see burial records for the Willard Pioneer Cemetery.)
