James Barnet Cole was the brother of my 4th great grandmother, Lucinda Eliza Cole Perry. Their families emigrated to Utah in 1850. They were the children of Barnet Cole of Vermont and Phebe Van Alstyne of Pennsylvania. James was married to Lucy Ward in 1856 in Fort Bridger, Wyoming. James came to his death by way of a horse accident in 1879. His wife was away in Ogden at the time, nursing a sick baby she had just had and instructed the farms help to bury him in the field.
