Edward Amey Funeral services for Edward Amey, 87, of Ashwood will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church, Ashwood, with the Rev. U. Callis officiating. Burial will be in Union Baptist Cemetery, Pledger. Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home. Mr. Amey was born Feb. 22, 1900, in Matagorda County, Texas, to Mark and Josephine Amey, and died June 19, 1987, at his residence. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include three nieces, Inez Boles and Jewel Glass of Bay City and Mary Lee Amey of Galveston; a great-nephew; two great-nieces; two great-great-nephews; and other relatives. Pallbearers include Willie Wiley Jr., Willie Wiley III, Edward Wiley, I. J. Boles, Tommie Abbott Jr. and Michael Abbott. Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.

Ethel Amey & Hawthorne Amey Ethel Amey Mrs. Ethel Amey, 77, of Pledger, Texas died Saturday, December 20, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton. Her church affiliation was Baptist. Survivors include: husband, Hawthorne Amey Sr. of Pledger; cousin, Arthur Jones of Pledger; daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Thomas of West Columbia, Mrs. Clarice Scott, Mrs. Bertha Woodard and Mrs Leotia Gordon of Houston; sons, Hawthorne Amey Jr. of Corpus Christi and Freddie Amey of Pledger; 14 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Melvin Wilson of San Francisco, Calif.; brothers, Milton O'Neal of Houston and and Tyree O'Neal of Detroit, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at the Union Baptist Church of Pledger Friday, December 26, at 12 noon with Rev. Joseph Daniels officiating. Interment will be at the Union Baptist Cemetery in Pledger. Visitation hours are from 11 to 12 a. m. Friday, at the Union Baptist Church in Pledger. Active pallbearers are Michael Woodard, Kermit R. Crawford, Erwin G. Amery, Freddie Amey, Clark Crawford and Sanford Amey. Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
