Church, 2705 Avenue B in Bay City, where our family will gather and
celebrate the life of our beloved James "Shakey" Peters, Jr. on
Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001 at noon. The Reverend Remus Wright will be
officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 until 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 in the Rose
Chapel of Mabrie Memorial Mortuary and a memorial service will begin
at 7 p.m. at the South Post Oak Baptist Church, 13535 South Post
Oak, where the family will be present to receive visitors at 6:30
p.m.
Final resting place will be Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane, Texas.
Left with fond memories are his wife, Barbara; a son, Zarak; two
daughters, Stacy and Michelle; sister, Carolyn and many dear

Funeral services for James Peters, Sr., 78, of Texas City, will be
held Wednesday, August 30, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the Mother Zion
Baptist Church, Bay City, with the Rev. K. J. Griggs, pastor and
Rev. R. E. Woodard, III, eulogist. Burial will follow at Shiloh
Cemetery in Cedar Lane.
Visitation will be Tuesday until 9 p.m. in the Duncan-Roberts
Funeral Home chapel.
He was born in Wadsworth, Texas, Saturday, August 12, 1922, to
Arthur Peters and Hannah Dillingham Peters, and passed away Friday,
August 25, 2000, at his residence in Texas City.
Survivors include a son, James Peters, Jr. (and Barbara) of Missouri
City; two daughters, Carolyn Williams (and Lexie), and Diann Davis,
all of Texas City; 11 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Earline, a
son, Earl, a sister, Hattie and a brother Sam Peters, Sr.
Active pallbearers will be Seautry Harkless, Jr., Zarak Peters, Sam
Peters, Jr., Anthony Smith, Howard Amos and Roy Armelin. Honorary
pallbearers will include James Peters, Jr., Willie Taylor, Lexie
Williams and Lloyd Lewis.

Funeral services for Amir LeJuan Griggs Player, 14, of Lake Jackson
will be Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church
at 401 Yaupon in Lake Jackson with the Rev. James Williams
officiating.
Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery in Cedar Lane.
He died Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Brazosport Memorial Hospital in
Lake Jackson.
He was a student at Brazoswood High School and played on the
freshman football team.
He was a member of True Honor Baptist Church in Clute.
He is survived by: mother, Cheryl “Snoopy” Griggs, Lake Jackson;
father, Craig Player, Beaumont; three brothers, Adrion “Pooka”
Griggs, Jermel “Jeda” Griggs, Chaston Player, all of Lake Jackson;
three sisters, Shamitra “Mimi” Griggs, Lake Jackson, Jhasmine
Player, Bay City, Chasity Player, Angleton; grandmothers, Betty
Wiley, Lake Jackson and Betty Sue Johnson, Galveston; grandfathers,
Elijah Wiley, Brazoria, Russel Dale, Bay City; great grandmother,
Emma Dale, Bay City and a host of other family members and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Dexter Mickens, Calvin Bonner, Travis
Williams, Russell “Ro” Bradshaw, Troy Barnes and Robert “Shep”
Green.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adrion Griggs, Jermel Griggs, Chaston
Player, Jordan Mitchell, Adam Wiley II, Joshua Wiley, Kenneth
Williams, Adam WileyI and Greg Mitchell.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003 from 4 to 8 p.m. at True
Honor Baptist Church at 713 Robertson St. in Clute.
