11, of Palacios, TX, passed away June 23, 2019.
Corbin was in a class by

and kind young gentlemen, fun, smart, outgoing, positive and always
politically correct; never wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings. He
always gave the sweetest kisses and hugs. He had an energy that drew
people to him and when he was gone he was immediately missed. Corbin

Willis O. "Pappy" Webb Willis O. Webb, longtime resident of Bay City, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at Matagorda General Hospital at the age of 93. Born in San Saba, TX on June 20, 1914 he was a gentle, kind and loving man. His love for his family and his pride in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild gave him great happiness. He was a veteran of World War II and a Life Member of Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438. He recently attained twenty-five years membership. He faithfully served as the Post Officer of the Day for many years. Recently he informed the post he would not be able to accept the position again in 2008-2009. It was voted by the members to appoint him as Post Officer of the Day Emeritus, and it was planned to present him with his new officer’s cap at the next regularly scheduled meeting on March 11th. He was deeply respected and admired by all of the membership and will be greatly missed. His life’s career and love was the oil industry in which he was active during the fifties and sixties. Upon his retirement from the oil industry he and his wife, Alline returned to Bay City where they have resided for over forty years. His hobbies were gardening, visiting his friends at “The Station”, and working with the tools he loved so dearly. Although deafness plagued him for many years a smile and nod would always follow any conversation directed at him. He was the perfect stereotype of his generation: a soldier, a worker, and a provider. He always took great pride in all of his work. With certainty we know the Lord will welcome Pop and find a place of honor for him in Heaven’s tool shop. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alline Garrett Webb, son and daughter-in-law Bill and Lynda Webb of Midland, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Frank Marino of Baton Rouge, LA; granddaughter Beth Marino of Lafayette, LA; grandson and his wife Chip & Michelle Marino of Baton Rouge, LA, grandson Andrew Webb and great grandson Chase Marino of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brother and four sisters. The family will greet friends and relatives from 6PM to 8PM Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Members of VFW Post 2438 will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438 Building Fund. The family would like to thank the many friends, neighbors, and church members who have stood by our side during this time of need. Our deepest thanks goes to our friend, Charles Teutsch, who was a dear friend of our father and gave of himself tirelessly during this time. For his friendship we will forever be grateful. More thanks go to Rev. Tom Morgan who provided spiritual guidance and a very strong shoulder on which to lean. And a final but huge expression of gratitude to our nurse Tami in the Intensive Care Unit of Matagorda General. She was a constant source of information and strength for our dad and all of us. October 19, 1956 - November 07, 2019 Peggy Jones Wesselski, 63, formerly of Bay City – a beloved mother, Gigi, sister, and most of all a friend to everyone she encountered, passed away November 7, 2019. She walked into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by her daughters, sister, and special friends. Peggy was born on October 19, 1956 in Wharton, Texas to the late Lew Don Jones and Margaret Jones Buenger. She was also preceded in death by her sister Kathy Jones Hightower. As a long-time member at First Baptist Church, Peggy loved attending women’s bible study, serving in the Stephen ministry, and volunteering to help others. For over 15 years she worked as a teller at Wells Fargo Bank in Bay City where she was a customer favorite. Of all her callings, she found being a mother, and later a Gigi, the most rewarding. She spent 24 years of her life battling breast cancer while always keeping that oh so contagious smile on her face. Along her journey with cancer she made many new friends and encouraged them with stories of how God had worked in her life. One of her favorite stories to share was how God used butterflies as a sign of hope for her. Often times we found that she touched her doctors and caregivers in unforgettable ways and left an everlasting impact on them. To know her was to love her. And if you had just met her, you instantly knew you had a friend. She was outspoken about her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. The Lord used her in many mighty ways throughout her life…even until the day He called her home. Survivors include daughters Amanda White & husband Kyle, Kacie Ticer & husband Ben, and Paige Soza & husband Justin; sister Patsy Jones Hill and her grandchildren Reese White, Charly White, Addison Soza, and Olivia Soza, along with a host of nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Bay City with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wyatt Shanks, Chad Wesselski, Richard Whitley, Joseph Whitley, Matt Dye, and Cody Crouch. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Kyle White, Ben Ticer, Justin Soza, Mike Baker, and Terry Crouch. The words “thank you” do not begin to show our gratitude and appreciation for her doctors at MD Anderson. Dr. Gabriel Hortobaygi and Dr. Sudhakar Tummala will forever hold a special place in our hearts for the love, compassion, and treatment they gave our mother. To the staff at Tomball Nursing, we love you and thank you for giving our mother the best care and loving her like we did. Contributions can be made in Peggy’s memory to First Baptist Church of Bay City. Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Photo courtesy of Faye Cunningham
