JAMES CHARLES NAISER
HALLETTSVILLE -
James Charles Naiser, 69, of
Hallettsville, passed away May 14, 2010. He was born on Nov. 29,
1940, to Ed and Alla Pinter Naiser in Danevang. He married Rosetta
Stropek Naiser on Nov. 29, 1962, in Ganado.
James is survived by his wife, Rosetta; son, Vernon Naiser of
Hallettsville; brother, Dennis Naiser of Markham; sisters, Bernice
Smith of Hallettsville, Patricia Phillips of New Braunfels.
Preceded in death by: parents; parent-in-laws, Rudolph and Tillie
Stropek.
Visitation will be at 12 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at
2 p.m., Monday, May 17, at Kubena Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael
Rother will officiate. Burial will be at Vsetin Cemetery.

Henry David
“Hank” Nance, Sr., 76, passed away November 12, 2009. He was born
February 18, 1933 in Atlanta, GA to the late Joseph & June Nance. He
was formerly a welding supervisor at STP and served in the US Army
during the Korean Conflict.
His wife Patty
Lou Nance preceded him in death in 1994. Survivors include daughter
and son-in-law Debbie & Dennis Lindley of Markham; sons Charles
Randall Nance of Sweeny, Henry David Nance, Jr. and Adam James Nance
both of Oklahoma; brothers Frankie Nance of Colorado and Jackie
Nance of Georgia; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Graveside
services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2009 at
Hawley Cemetery in Blessing with

RUBY MAY NARD
BAY CITY - Ruby May Nard of Bay
City, formerly of Silver City, N.M., went to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. Ruby was born May 22, 1924 in Lordsburg,
N.M., to Joseph Cloudt and Dovie Baldwin Cloudt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Nard; her parents, Joe
and Dovie Cloudt; and infant grandson, Kenneth James Nard.
Survivors include her son, Morris Lee Nard; daughter, Bobby Jo
Sieben; brother, Bob Cloudt; five grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Vineyard
Church, 900 Nichols St. in Bay City.

ANGELINA NEDBALEK
Angelina "Angie" Nedbalek of
Blessing died Jan. 9, 2007. She was
born on March 11, 1918 in Engles, to
Valentine and Stephania Bucek
Kubecka. She worked hard all her
life as a governess and housekeeper.
She enjoyed working in her flower
beds and mowing her lawn until her
early 80's.
Survivors include her sisters,
Steffie Kahanek of Ganado and
Georgia Kircher of Houston; nieces,
who were dear to her, Diane Machlan,
Delores Norton, and Marie Wood, all
of El Campo, and Patsy Wagnon of
Lousiana. She also has a
stepdaughter, Betty Blocker of
Midfield.
She is preceded in death by her
husband, Eddie Nedbalek; her
parents; her sisters, Martha Curtis
of Houston and Lillian Wilson of El
Campo; and brother, August Kubecka
of Ganado. Visitation will begin 11
a.m. with family receiving friends
6-8 p.m. Friday at Triska Funeral
Home. Funeral services will be 10
a.m. Saturday at the funeral home,
with Rev. Don Storey officiating.
Burial will be at Hawley Cemetery
near Blessing.

Johnnie Joe Nedbalek, Sr., 81, of Blessing,
passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Bay City. He was born May
5, 1928 in Blessing, TX to John M. Nedbalek and Annie Barinka
Nedbalek. He was a lifelong resident of the Blessing area, retired
as a foreman from the oil field and was a US Army veteran of the
Korean War.
He is survived by his wife: Ethel Marie Nicholson
Nedbalek of Blessing, TX: by his daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara
& Neil Jensen of El Campo, Judy Nedbalek of Missouri City, Sandy &
Larry Stelzel of East Bernard, Cathy & Richard Halbison of Victoria,
Linda & Lewis Griffith of Midfield, and Gail & Tim Otto of
Hempstead; by his son: Johnnie Nedbalek, Jr of Francitas; his
sisters: Lillie Kana of Houston and Annie Mazoch of Louisiana; a
brother: Emil Nedbalek of Houston; and by 15 grandchildren and 20
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three
sisters and one brother.
The family will receive visitors from 5 PM to 7
PM Wednesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Graveside services will
be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Hawley
Cemetery. The Rev. Hollie L. Briscoe will officiate. The Philip H.

Harriet Edith Neff
Miss Harriet Edith Neff died Tuesday morning June
11, 1946, age 87 years. She was born May 2, 1859 in York, Penn.
Eleven years ago she came to Palacios and made her home with her
niece, Mrs. C. G. Jeffers. She had been a member of the Lutheran
Church since childhood and lived an exemplary Christian life.
Funeral services were held at the Palacios
Funeral Home Wednesday, June 12 at 4 P. M. with Rev. L. W. Crouch
officiating. Burial was made in the Hawley Cemetery near Blessing
under the direction of the Palacios Funeral Home.

Erie Lee Neisius
Erie Lee Neisius, 57, of Palacios passed away at
Wagner General Hospital in Palacios Oct. 14. She was a resident of
Palacios for over 25 years. She is survived by her father, Willie
Linton of Palacios, daughters, Mrs. Cynthia Underwood of Hardin,
Mrs. Priscilla McGreagor of Austin; and sisters, Mrs. Flossie
Puckett of Beeville; Mrs. Thelma Young of Hallsville; brothers,
Nathan Linton of Palacios, Cecil Linton of Needham [CT], and Robert
Linton of McAllen. Funeral services were held Oct. 16 at 3 p. m. at
the Palacios Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. N. E. Balch officiating.
Burial was at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Arrangements made through

Nelson
Funeral services for the Rev. Alfred H. Nelson,
75, of Bay City will be held 2 p. m. Thursday at First Baptist
Church with Dr. W. D. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Hawley
Cemetery, Blessing.
Rev. Nelson was born March 4, 1912, in Davis,
Okla., to Grover and May Thomas Nelson and died Feb. 2, 1988, at
Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City.
He graduated from Italy High School and Howard
Payne College in 1949. He attended Southwest Baptist Seminary in
Fort Worth and was ordained a Southern Baptist minister, an educator
and school administrator having taught 17 years in the Bay City
Independent School District.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in
Brownwood, Texas; past president of the Rice Belt Kiwanis Club;
active member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church; and
past director of the Matagorda County Teachers Credit Union.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Norene Nelson of Bay
City; a son, and daughter-in-law, Carroll L. and Shirley Nelson Sr.
of Bay City; a daughter and son-in-law, Nickey and Donald M. Jones
of Van Vleck; three brothers, Fred Nelson of LaMarque, and Jourdon
Nelson and the Rev. Lee Nelson, both of Athens, Texas; five sisters,
Muriel Dyess of Andrews, Texas, Athalee Thornton of Athens, Beth
Kirby of Houston, Grace Richardson of Van, Texas, and Faith Evans of
Bowie; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include W. E. Ehlert, Jr., Al Green,
W. C. “Curly” Grimes, James Sowell, Wayne Michael, Gordon Hardegree,
Gaston Morton and Jim Hardaway.
Honorary pallbearers include Jack Kelly, Pete

Mrs. Rose Nelson, of
Bay City died Jan. 21, 1976 at the Matagorda General Hospital. She
was born Nov. 21, 1895 in Texas. Survivors include three daughters,
Mrs. Lydia Moore of Houston, Mrs. Lola Williams and Mrs. Alma Smith
of Chicago, Ill; four sons, Marvin Grogan of Boston, Mass., Leland
Grogan of Houston, Raymond Grogan of Pleasanton, Calif. and Thomas
Jackson of Bay City; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will held at
the St. John Baptist Church of Van Vleck Sunday, Jan. 25 at 1:30
p.m. The Rev. O. L. Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in St.

Agnes Marie Seviek Nemec
(December 2, 1921 - February 8, 2008)
Agnes Marie Seviek Nemec, 86, of
Midfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2008. She
was born December 2, 1921 in Smithfield, TX to Stephanie Psencik and
Joseph Seviek.
She was a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, and friend. Agnes was a long-time faithful member of
the St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Blessing and belonged to the St.
Peter’s Altar Society for many years, until her death. She was
chosen Homemaker of the Year by the Soil and Water Conservation in
1995 and was a member of KJZT Society #72 in El Campo, TX.
Agnes is survived by her loving
husband of 60 years, Charles Nemec; son, Vincent Nemec and wife
Cynthia of Bay City; daughter, Christine Naiser and husband Tony of
Midfield; daughter, Cecilia Gutowski and husband Mark of Alvin;
daughter-in-law, Adrienne Johnson of Clear Lake; and seven
grandchildren, Jayson and Ryan Naiser, Stephanie and Thomas Nemec,
Nathan Gutowski, and John and Wesley Nemec. She was preceded in
death by her parents, her brother Henry Seviek and he son, Patrick
Nemec.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 7
PM Monday, February 11, 2008 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in
Blessing. The Rosary will follow at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be
held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at St. Peter’s Catholic
Church in Blessing with Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Burial will
follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Her
grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Charles Roman Nemec, 93, passed
away in Bay City, Texas on July 28, 2009.
He was born December 11, 1915 in Schulenburg, Texas to Karel Nemec
and Euphrasina Fojtik Nemec. He is a veteran of the US Army during
World War II, where he was a Prisoner of War for 18 months. After
his discharge from the Army, he married Agnes Seviek and settled in
Midfield to farm. He was a member of American Legion Post 649 and
served many years as president of the Soil and Water Conservation
District. He was also a member of the KJT Society # 84 of El Campo,
receiving his 75 year pin in October 2008.
Charlie is survived by: his children, Vincent Nemec and wife Cynthia
of Bay City, Christine Naiser and husband Tony of Midfield, Cecilia
Gutowski and husband Mark of Alvin and daughter-in-law: Adrienne
Johnson of Clear Lake; by his sisters, Marie Hickl of West Columbia,
Annie Kana of Stafford, Agnes Kleckar of Luling, Georgia Dorotik and
husband Jerome of Taito; by his brothers, Richard Nemec and wife
Nannette of Sugar Land, Joe Nemec and wife Naomi of Midfield and
sister-in-law, Phyllis Seviek of Richland Hills, Texas. And by his
grandchildren, Jayson Naiser and fiancée Emily Jasek of College
Station, Stephanie Nemec of San Marcos, John Nemec of San Marcos,
Nathan Gutowski of Alvin, Ryan Naiser of Midfield, Wesley Nemec of
Waco and Thomas Nemec of Bay City.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Agnes Marie Seviek
Nemec, a son, Patrick Joseph Nemec; his brother, Anton Nemec;
sister, Elizabeth Pesak and by his parents, Karel and Euphrasina
Nemec.

His Catholic faith was an inspiration to his family and friends. He
was always available if someone needed help, especially with fixing
something.

JOSEPH WILLIAM NEMEC
MIDFIELD - Joseph William "Joe" Nemec of Midfield
died March 4, 2010, at the age of 89. He was born on Aug. 20, 1920,
in Schulenburg, to the late Karl "Charles" and Eufrasina Fojtik
Nemec. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII as staff
sergeant, was a retired carpenter and a lifelong member of the KJT.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Bauer Nemec of Midfield; sons, Joe
Nemec and wife Christine of Corpus Christi, Tony Nemec and wife
Barbara of El Campo, Mike Nemec and wife Debbie of El Campo, Danny
Nemec and wife Debbie of El Campo, James Nemec and wife Kris of San
Angelo, Jeff Nemec and wife Debbie of Markham, Timmy Nemec and wife
Mary of El Campo, Christopher Nemec and wife Susan of Layfette, La.;
daughters, Cathy Cornejo and husband Rick of Edna, Cheri Billings

HERNANDO, Miss. - Charles Edward Nesbitt, 52, of Hernando, Miss.,
died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003.
He was born Jan. 20, 1951, in Tallis, N.M., to John and Mildred
Marie Key Nesbitt of Blessing. He was a heavy equipment operator and
a Baptist.
Survivors: wife, Marilyn Hunter Nesbitt; daughter, Amanda Nesbitt
of Bay City; stepdaughter, Melissa Tyrell of Smith, Ala.; sons,
Billy Berry and Van Berry, both of Holly Hill, S.C.; stepson, John

HERTA NEUS
Frieda Herta Neus, 92, of Angleton, Texas, died on Monday, April 26,
2004, at the Plantation Health Care Center in Lake Jackson, Texas.
She was born on May 13, 1911, in Greifswald, Germany, to the late
Johannes and Berta Karoline Dorothea Groesch Matelski.
Due to her failing health, on December 6, 1999, she made her final
trip to the United States and moved in with her daughter.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in law, Monika and Charles
Forrest of Angleton; two grandsons, Lynn and his wife, Angie, and
Andy and his wife, Kim, Forrest; three great-grandchildren, Abby,
Katy and Randall, all of Brazoria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Heinrich M. Neus, June 23,
1985.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28,
2004, at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ronald
Semro officiating.
Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas.

Heinrich M. Neus
Memorial services for Heinrich M. Neus, 76, of
Berlin, Germany, will be held 10 a. m. Saturday a Palacios Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Jay Gross officiating.
Mr. Neus was born June 22, 1909, in Bochum,
Germany, and died at 1 a. m. June 23, 1985, at Saint Gertrauden
Hospital, Berlin.
Mr. and Mrs. Neus first came to Texas in 1964.
Since their retirement in 1973, they have spent their winters and
part of the spring in their residence in Palacios. They enjoyed
visiting their daughter and son-in-law, Monika and Charles Forrest.
He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda Neus of
Berlin; a daughter and son-in-law, Monika and Charles Forrest of
Palacios; and two grandsons, Lynn and Andy Forrest of Palacios.

Leo P. Neuszer, 77, of Blessing, died at his
residence May 31. He was a member of the Blessing Kiwanis and AARP.

MARTHA EUREKA NEUSZER
BLESSING [Matagorda County, Texas] -
Martha Eureka Martin Neuszer was
born on Feb. 24, 1906, in Gillette,
Karnes County. This baby girl,
destined to live life to its
fullest, was the daughter of Eureka
Billings Martin and Frank Duffy
Martin. Mrs. Neuszer was a longtime
resident of Blessing. She died on
May 2, 2007, in Matagorda General
Hospital, Bay City, after having
lived over a century at the age of
101 years, 2 months, 8 days.
Mrs. Neuszer was preceded in death
by her husband, Leo P. Neuszer; her
parents; two brothers, Clyde and
Earl Martin; and three sisters, Eula
Martin, Selma Rollins, and Leona
Rackley; her son-in-law, Bob
Ackerman of Blessing, and one infant
granddaughter, Connie Lynnette
Neuszer.
She is survived by one daughter,
Margie Ackerman of Blessing; one
son, Leo Neuszer and wife Nalona of
Bay City; seven grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; seven
great-great-grandchildren; sister,
Dora Martin of Columbus; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha Eureka Martin completed high
school, in Sample, in April 1925.
She later married Leo P. Neuszer, in
Gonzales, on Dec. 21, 1927, after
which time they later moved to
Matagorda County in 1927, first in
Deutschburg Community, then to the
Blessing Community. The family moved
to the present home site in January
1939, where Mrs. Neuszer lived until
November 2005, before becoming a
resident in the Matagorda House
Nursing Home.
During her latter years Mrs. Neuszer
remained quite active in spite of
her advanced age. She was a member
of First Baptist Church, Blessing.
She was an avid member of the

Women's Pregnancy Center in Bay
City.
Funeral services, conducted by her
grandson-in-law, the Rev. James
Collins, will be held at 2 p.m. on
Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Palacios
Funeral Home in Palacios.

86, of Palacios passed away October 25, 2007. She was born December
2, 1920 in Falfurrias, TX to the late Guadalupe and Martha Rodriguez
Colunga.
She was preceded
in death by her husband Gerinimo Nevarez; twin sister Hortencia
Colunga & other siblings and 2 grandchildren. Survivors include five
daughters Flor Gonzalez and Yolanda Aleman both of Bay City, Mary
Torres of Palacios & Elmina Hernandez & Rosalinda Nevarez both of
Elsa, TX; two sons Edward Nevarez of Richmond, VA & Noe Nevarez of

MIDFIELD - Charlene Nevill, 72, passed away on
Sept. 3, 2007. She was born on April 9, 1935, in Wharton, to the
late Herman and Mary Sliva Kubesch.
She is survived by her daughters, Arlene
Borgsteadt of Austin and Tracey Nevill of Pearland; five
grandchildren, Rachel Villegas, Amanda Kitterman, and Bubba
Borgsteadt, all of Austin, Michael Thompson and Troy Thompson, both
of Houston; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and
husband, Arvil"Jinx" Nevill.
Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. today, with a
rosary recited at 7:30 p. m., at Triska Funeral Home in El Campo.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at St. Peter's

Funeral services for Arthur “Art” L. Newbould, 71, of Palacios, were
held Dec. 2, 2008 at the Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Tx.
Interment was at Houston National Cemetery.
Art passed away on Thanksgiving Day at his home in Palacios, Tx. He
had lived there for several years and considered many local
residents as his friends.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the United
States Army.
He is survived by sons David of Philadelphia, PA., Arthur III and

PALACIOS - Tu Van Nguyen, 72, of Palacios, passed away Monday, July
21, 2008 at Palacios Community Hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1935,
in Vietnam, to the late Rung Nguyen and Cay T. Bui Nguyen. Mr.
Nguyen had been a longtime resident of Palacios and was a member of
St. Anthony's of Padua Church Vietnamese Apostolate in Palacios.
He is survived by his wife, Ty Nguyen of Palacios; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Yen and Bryan Tran of Palacios and Chi and Steve Nguyen
of Houston; four sons and daughters-in-law, Xung and Nga Than of
Deer Park, Toan and Kim Vu Nguyen of Sugar Land, An Nguyen of
Houston, and Phuong Nguyen of Houston; sister, Hoi Nguyen of
Vietnam; 12 grandchildren: Jackson, David, Teresa, and Lisa Than,
Julian, Jonathan, Joanna, Elise, and Chloe Nguyen, Tiffany and
Kimberly Tran, and Jennifer Lopez and husband Zach; and
great-grandchild, Gavin Lopez.

Nichols, Retired School Teacher
Annie Mae
Nichols was born Dec. 22, 1926 in Walker County and died Jan. 22, in
Huntsville.
Mrs. Nichols was a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University,
where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with
minors in English, Fine Arts, and Social Studies. She married the
love of her life in Huntsville on July 21, 1950. She and W.E.
Nichols met in the five-and-dime store where Mrs. Nichols worked
while attending school.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Huntsville, since 1988
when she moved her membership and relocated to this area. Prayer
Ministries have been a vital part of her life with faith and belief
that prayer is very essential in all church ministries. The Agape
Class held a special place in her heart where love and kindness was
shown. All of the staff members at the Lexington Center were held
close in her heart, as well. She cherished her time there and was so
grateful for the love and caring that surrounded her during her
final months.
After retirement with teaching experience, she became interested in
writing inspirational poetry. Her works are published in anthologies
in the U.S. by the International Library of Poetry with
international recognition as well by Noble House publishers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Elmer Nichols,
Jr.; son, Ronald William Nichols; parents, William Harmon and Ena M.
Strickland; brother, William Harmon Strickland and sister, Minnie O.
Aleivine.
Survivors include sister and husband, Louise C. and Luther Laskie of
Riverside; sister Ellen Gardner of Bryan; sister and husband,
Dorothy J. and E.F. Arnold of The Woodlands; sister Lorene Parchman
Morris of Bryan; sister and husband, Betty J. and Claudene Pierce of
Riverside; sister-in-law Helen Strickland of Huntsville
brother-in-law and wife Jack and Ramona Nichols, and numerous
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive visitors from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday
and services will follow in the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home
Chapel in Huntsville at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carroll Williams
officiating. A private burial will be held on Monday at Roselawn
Memorial Park, Van Vleck, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Donnie Bilnoski, Ray Alewine, Sam Adams,
Joe Strickland, Marc Strickland and Jack Nichols. Honorary
pallbearers are Luther Laskie, E.F. Arnold, Claudene Pierce and Glyn
Madden.
Mrs. Nichols will be fondly remembered for her engaging smile, love
of life, exuberance, positive attitude, and kindness.

John
Thomas Nicholson, 89, of Beaumont died November 18, 2005 at his
residence. A native of Blessing, he had lived in Beaumont, Houston,
and Woodville before returning to the city. He began his career in
the oil field eventually representing several companies in the sales
of oilfield tools. Mr. Nicholson was a United States Army Air Corps
veteran.
He is survived by his wife Maurine Nicholson of Beaumont; son, John
Thomas Nicholson and his wife Sheryl of Bonham; daughters, Susan
Beavers and her husband Bob of Nome and Anne Worrell and her husband
Pat of Sugarland; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Matthews, Spencer
Nimmo, Stephen Nimmo, Robby Beavers, Billy Beavers, Michael
Nicholson, Sarah Moody, and Jennifer Mynarcik; nine great
grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his father, William Thomas Nicholson; and his mothers, Annie Vaught
and Leila Nicholson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2005 at
Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin. Military burial rites will be 4:00 p.m.
at Hawley Cemetery, Blessing, Texas. A gathering of family and

Monday, September 29, 2008 in Sugar Land, Texas.
She was born May 4, 1925 in Freer, Texas to Cyrel Fred Magnus and
Ethel Baker Magnus. She was a resident of Bay City and Matagorda
County since 1966, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a
retired seamstress.
She is survived by: her husband, Wesley “Wes” R. Pipe of Markham;
her daughter, Patricia Faye Ware and husband Billy of Van Vleck; her
sons, Nathaniel Rudolph Murphey of Markham and Cyrel Fred Murphey of
Sinton; her step-son, Kenny Niemietz of Houston; sisters, Cecilia
Magnus of Sinton and Opal Bennett of Pleasanton, Texas; and by 12
grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Edgar William Murphey

FRANK G. NOBLE, JR., 69, died peacefully in Bay
City on May 19 after a series of strokes. Born Nov 21, 1939 and
raised in Houston, he graduated from the University of Houston.
Frank devoted most of his career life to manufacturing "Tuff Seal"
tire sealant, an industrial flat preventative he formulated, and
writing and publishing "Noble's Prime Time Fishing Forecast." His
forecasts also appeared in many newspapers and fishing magazines and
on TV.
He was an avid saltwater fisherman, boat builder, bird hunter, ham
radio operator and Christian known for asking people, "Have you
heard the good news today?" He is a longtime member of The
Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lake Jackson.
Frank is survived by: his wife Carol, 2 aunts, seven cousins and
their families.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Sunday, June 14 at The
Lighthouse, 104 This Way, Lake Jackson, TX 77566.

Noble, 80, of Marble Falls, TX passed away March 12, 2009. She was

Olivine Wynn Norris. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in
Goose Creek, TX, lived in Venezuela for 9 years, and traveled with
her husband to other parts of the world. She lived her life as a
loving wife, mother and grandmother.

the Lutheran Church and was a resident of Bay City the past 50
years. In 1995 she retired from Matagorda General Hospital as a LVN
with 27 years of service. Survivors include: daughter: Judy Lee

Leon Normand, 66, of Van Vleck passed away Monday
February 18, 2008 at his home.
He was born May 25, 1941 in Marksville, Louisiana to the late Mary
Gannon Normand and L.B. Normand. Mr. Norman was a resident of Van
Vleck for 25 years, and a member of Golden Ave. Baptist Church. He
loved fishing, and working with his hands.
He is survived by: his wife, Judy Littleton Normand of Van Vleck;
three sons, Billy Normand of Van Vleck, Donald Normand of El Campo,
and Kennie Normand and wife Kellie of Palacios; sister, Jo Lynne
Mitchell of Marksville, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Cody Normand
and Kolton Normand.
Leon was preceded in death by: his parents; grandson, Justin
Normand; sister, Margaret Lachney; and two brothers, Donald and Kent
Norman.

funeral home.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday February 21, 2008 at
Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hawley
Cemetery in Blessing.

Karen E. Nyman, 46, of Bay City,
passed away on June 23, 2009, in Houston. Karen was born on October
10, 1962, in Kingsville, TX, to Charles R. and Aleida A. (Lambert)
Haney. She was much loved and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her father, Charles Haney; a daughter, Shannon
Rupe; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Gabrielle Rupe; a significant
loved one, Adam Alameda and family; her sisters, Katherine Haney
Ussery and Michelle Haney Neumann and husband David; a nephew, Owen
Roy Neumann; and two nieces, Sarah H. Ussery-Garza and Isabelle
Neumann.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Aleida Haney.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 1:00
P.M. at Turning Point Church, 1800 Marguerite Street, Bay City,
Texas 77414.
