Micah Traylenn Martinez

(November 29, 1999 - February 2, 2018)

Micah Traylenn Martinez, 18, of Markham, passed away February 2, 2018. He was born November 29, 1999 in Bay City.

Micah was a talented senior at Tidehaven High School with a bright future. He had big plans to attend the University of Houston through their theater program after graduation. Micah was kind hearted, witty, fun loving, passionate about life and loved by everyone who knew him. Some called him the ultimate entertainer. He felt most comfortable on stage and in costume. Whether it be performing voice imitations, having the leading role in a play, singing and playing piano or any other number of instruments he was gifted with, you were almost certain he was the one that would be stealing the show. And if the opportunity ever presented itself you were guaranteed to be shown a magic trick or even sword swallowing.

Over the last 18 years there wasn’t much Micah didn’t try. In earlier years you could always find him on a soccer field. He also played football, basketball and baseball and spent a few years learning Taekwondo. However his love for acting also started very young and quickly became his true passion that began to consume most of his time.

Besides acting and singing, other hobbies of Micah’s included learning new musical instruments, fishing, caving with his Pepaw, gaming and most recently modeling. Throughout his High School career at Tidehaven he was a member of the Chess Club, Tidehaven Tiger Pride Band, THS Choir, Robotics, Yearbook, Drama Club and Theater Program participating in OAP every year. He was also actively involved in Tigers for Christ and many times led the morning meetings. Micah won numerous team awards in sports, band and theater. He also received the Best Actor Award, Outstanding Musician and 1st Place in the Science Fair.

Micah deeply loved his family, friends and fellow classmates but the deepest and most important love was his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Anyone that knew Micah knew his faith and how boldly he was willing to share it. The world will be forever changed without the presence of this well accomplished, young, rising star and we can only imagine what the future would have held for such talent. Micah will not only be missed by friends and family but an entire community.

Survivors include his father Satero Marcos Martinez; mother Sarah Sauls Martinez; maternal grandparents Mitch & Sue Sauls; paternal grandparents Satero & Mary Martinez; great- grandmother Delia Rojas; sisters Cloey Martinez and Sierra Carrera; brother Caleb Mankey; Aunt Shauna & Uncle Joey Lucio, and cousins Andrew & Allyson, Uncle Shane Saul and cousins Brianna, Aurora and Kaylynn, Aunt Becky Sauls, Aunt Mandy & Uncle James Rhoades and cousins Mallory, Jonathan and Christian, and Aunt Kristie & Uncle James Averitt and cousins Kristianna and Courtney.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00-7:00pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Lane ParDue officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Warren Madison Morris III
(March 25, 1948 - March 11, 2018)

Warren Madison Morris III was born March 25, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida to Warren M. Morris, Jr. and Jean Dickinson Morris. He passed away on March 11, 2018 in Houston, Texas, just 2 weeks shy of his 70th birthday. Warren lived life on his terms, but always held God, family, his friends and students as his priorities, usually in that order. Warren’s father was a land surveyor and for many years, Warren literally followed in Dad’s footsteps, traversing northeast Florida as a youngster, and later, surveying across the continents as a civil engineer. Warren was, above all, a Proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was appointed Eleventh Armored Cavalry Regiment’s “Blackhorse Trooper” in June 1970, as a result of his honorable and faithful service as a Warrant Officer I during the Vietnam War. He was a trusted and peerless helicopter pilot whose missions often included flying the highest-ranking officers as well as dangerous rescue missions which saved many lives. Warren and his brother, Herbert O. “Bert” Morris were an exception as “brothers-in-arms” during their concurrent military service in Vietnam. Warren married Deborah “Debbie” Morris on a Florida beach in 1974 and they soon began a wonderful life in Texas. Warren graduated from the University of Houston in 1978 with a B.S. in Civil Technology and was a member of Tau Alpha Pi National Honor Society. Although an engineer by trade for most of his career, his most treasured legacy will be his years spent teaching at Palacios High School. Warren was integral in the formation of the PHS Robotics curriculum and mentored several teams that competed successfully on the international stage for FIRST Robotics Competition. He was truly humbled by being awarded Mentor of the Year during the 2015 FIRST World Championship as a result of his students’ nomination. He was fond of letting students know “I ain’t yo’ mama!” and often regaled his classes with tales of his far-flung adventures which usually translated to important life lessons. Warren is survived by his loving wife, Debbie, precious daughter, Erin Morris Haws (Nathan), loving sons, Warren Madison Morris IV and James Christopher Morris (Mercedes Flores) and cherished grandchildren, Sophia Harleigh Morris and Levi Carter Morris. Warren is also survived by his brother, Herbert O. “Bert” Morris (Wanda) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and a daughter by previous marriage, Allison Baird, of Jacksonville, FL, along with a host of beloved extended family and friends. Warren was preceded in death by his parents and his loving big sister, Barbara Jean Stuart.

Services will be held 10:00am Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Palacios with Rev. James Collins officiating.

Warren will be interred with military honors in a private ceremony at 1100 hrs on Monday, March 19th, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Courtney, David Gorsuch, Dick Gregory, Brian Kruger, Jackson Lanehart, Robert McCall, Bobby McDonald, Chris Page

Contributions in honor of Warren’s life may be sent to Palacios Area Fund, 454-B Main St., Palacios, TX 77465, which will assist in the formation of a memorial educational scholarship for PHS students. Contributions may also be made online at www.cftexas.org/palacios-area-fund-donation.

Charlie Arthur Myers III

(February 14, 1951 - October 9, 2017)

Charlie Arthur Myers III, 66, of Alvin passed away October 9, 2017. He was born February 14, 1951 in Refugio, Texas to the late Charlie Arthur Myers, Jr. and Lillian Leila Culpepper Myers. He worked as a pipeline technician for Enterprise Products.

Charlie was full of life and could light up any room he walked into and have people laughing within minutes. He was even known to break out into a happy dance when he beat everyone playing “42”. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. He grew up with a strong work ethic while always finding a way to have fun. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing 42, but what he loved most was spending time with his kids any chance he could get. Anybody that knew Charlie knew that he always had the answer to everything. His kids would often ask him questions, and he never lacked a response. He knew what to do and how to do it. With Charlie, you never had to guess what he was thinking or feeling. He would tell you exactly what was on his mind or heart, making everyone love him that much more. But family always meant the most to him, and he treasured the times he had with them.

Charlie’s love for the Lord was evident in the way he shared his heart with others and encouraged others around him. He was a kind man with a tough exterior, but would go out of his way to help others when they were in need. The only set of directions Charlie ever needed were in the Bible, and he trusted whatever the Lord had laid out for him.
