Floyd Brown
Funeral rites for Floyd Brown, 18, were held at 10 a.
m. Friday from Duncan Funeral Home, with burial in Markham. Survivors
include the father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brown, two sisters,
Emmie Marie, Tommie Mae; four brothers, Lloyd, Louis Jim, Ranson and
James Irvin, who is serving with the U. S. Navy. All others are local
residents.

Frank Brown, Sr.
Funeral
services for Frank Brown Sr., 56, of Markham will be held 2
p. m. Saturday at Mount Zion Church of God in Christ,
Markham, with the Rev. Henry Brown officiating. Burial will
follow in Markham Cemetery.
The
family will receive friends until 9 p. m. today at
Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.
Mr.
Brown was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Wharton to Fred and Mary
Skaggs Brown Sr. and died Jan. 2, 1990, at Matagorda General
Hospital, Bay City.
He was a
member of Church of God in Christ and was a veteran of the
Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Brown of Markham; six
children, Anthony , Frank Jr., Carl, Chris, Gail Elaine and
Mary Lucinda; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown Sr. of
Markham; three sisters, Mable Fisher of Markham, Annie Jean
Williams and Betty Liner of Houston; five brothers, Fred
Brown Jr. and Curtis Brown of Bay City, the Rev. Henry Brown
of Minneapolis, Minn., John Gary Brown of Stockton, Calif.,
and Albert Brown of Houston; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Leonard Fisher, Calvin Williams, Jessie
Stredic, Chris Grice, Frank Brown Jr. and Anthony Ray Brown.
Honorary
pallbearers are Fred Brown Sr., Nelson Williams, Leon Liner
Sr., Albert Brown, Willie Fisher, John G. Brown and Curtis
L. Brown.

Frank Brown, Sr.
Frank Brown was born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Brown, Sr. on January 25, 1933 in Wharton, Texas.
He attended public school in Markham,
Texas.
Frank accepted Christ at an early age and
became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the
leadership of Rev. Williams.
After serving two years in the U. S.
Army, he met and married Agnes Brown. Later in life he
married Miss Joyce Stredic. To these marriages, five
children were born.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joyce
Brown, six children, Anthony, Frank, Jr., Carl, Chris, Gail
Elaine and Mary Lucinda, two grandchildren, his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Brown, Sr., eight siblings, Fred, Jr. and
Curtis of Bay City, Rev. Henry Brown of Minneapolis, Minn.,
John Gary of Stockton, California, Mrs. Annie Jean Williams,
Albert and Mrs. Betty Liner of Houston and Mrs. Mable Fisher
of Markham and a host of other relatives and friends.

Joseph Anthony Brown
Funeral services for Joseph Anthony Brown, 18, of
Markham, are scheduled for 11 a. m. Friday at Mt. Zion Pentecostal
Holiness Church in Markham with Elders Henry Brown and Fred Jones
officiating. Burial will follow at Markham Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday until 9 p. m. at the
Funeral Home Chapel and 10-11 a. m. Friday at Mt. Zion Church.
Mr. Brown was born Aug. 4, 1976 in Bay City to
Curtis Lee and Delia Ramos-Brown and died Sept. 4, 1994 in El Maton.
Mr. Brown was a member of Church of God in Christ.
He was a senior at Tidehaven High School where he was senior running
back for the Tidehaven Tigers.
Survivors include his mother, Delia Ramos Brown of
Bay City; his father and step-mother, Curtis and Sandra Brown of Texas
City; two sisters, Angela Marie Brown of Houston and Christina Raquel
Brown of Bay City; two brothers, Curtis Brown, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, and
Allen Maurice Brooks of Bay City; maternal grandparents, Martin and
Angela Rodriguez of San Antonio; six aunts, Cynthia Ramos Barr of
Conyers, Georgia; Evelyn Ramos Estrada of San Antonio; Rosalinda
Rodriguez Benavides of Bay City, Mable Brown Fisher of Markham, Annie
Brown Williams of Houston, and Betty Brown Liner of Houston; five
uncles, Martin Rodriguez, Jr. of San Antonio; Henry Brown of
Minneapolis, Minn., John Brown of Stockton, CA, Albert Brown of Houston,
and Fred Brown, Jr. of Bay City; two nephews, Tydrrell and Darien of Bay
City; and an extended family of great aunts and uncles, cousins, other
relatives and a family of friends, which include the Tidehaven
Independent School District.
He was preceded in death by his paternal
grandparents, Fred and Mary Scaggs Brown of Markham.
Pallbearers are Marvin Lewis, Robert Brown, Artis
Edwards, Jr., Kerry Joe Williams, Mark Ramirez, Derrick Collins, Jerald
Davis, and Oscar Mayberry.
Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Brown, Jr., Herman
Davis, Jr., Carl Grice, Victor Estrada, Chris Grice, Joey Olquin, Robert
Lister, LaHumphrey Williams and the Athletic Department of Tidehaven
High School.

Joyce Brown
Feb. 2, 1949 - Jan. 2, 2010
Funeral services for Joyce Brown, 60, of Markham,
will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, at Mother Zion
Baptist Church, Bay City, with the Rev. Murray Martin, pastor, and
the Rev. Fred Jones, eulogist. Burial will follow at Markham
Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral
home chapel.
She was born in Bay City, Texas, February 2, 1949, to J.C. Stredic
and Lucinda Grice Stredic, and passed away January 2, 2010, in
Houston, Texas.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Brown and Gayle Collins (and
Ozell), all of Houston; and two sons, Christopher Grice (and Jerilyn)
of Palacios, and Carl Grice of Markham. Also three sisters, Patricia
Allen (and Paul) of Houston, Alice Grice and Nancy Roberson (and
Lee, Jr.), all of Bay City; and two brothers, Jesse Stredic, Jr. and
Roy Stredic (and Gloria), all of Bay City. Also a host of other
relatives and friends.

Joyce Marie Grice Brown
On February 2, 1949, a daughter was
born to Lucendy and J. C. Stredic, Sr. in Bay City,
Texas whom they named Joyce Marie Grice.
She grew up in Bay City and attended
public school at Hilliard High School where she
graduated in 1967.
She confessed to Christ at an early
age under the leadership of Rev. L. R. James at Mother
Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved her
membership to Mount Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church
COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Fred A. Jones. She
was united in holy matrimony to Frank Brown Sr. To this
union, four children were born which consist of two sons
and two daughters.
Her life came to an end Saturday,
January 2, 2010, at Hermann Memorial Hospital in
Houston, Texas. Her memories will be cherished by her
loved ones; which includes two sons, Christopher Grice (Jerrilyn)
of Palacios, Carl Grice of Markham; two daughters, Mary
Brown and Gayle Collins (Ozell) both of Houston, Alice
Grice and Nancy Roberson (Lee) both of Bay City;
brothers, Jesse Stredic, Jr., and Roy Stredic (Gloria)
both of Bay City, very special friend and cousin,
Florence John of Bay City, eleven grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.

BAY CITY - Lee Andrew Brown, 77, of Bay City, died
Dec. 16, 2004.
He was born May 29, 1927, in Columbus, to the late Sam and Freddie
Maxfield Brown.
Survivors: daughters, Rosie Jackson and Bridgette White, both of
Houston, Sherry Jean Brown of Markham, and Sherry Ann Lewis of Bay City;
sons, Lee Andrew Brown Jr. of Markham and Dexter Brown of Bay City;
sister, Otha Temple; brother, Sam Brown Jr.; 11 grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mary Brown, 88, of

Mary Brown
Mother Mary Brown was born to Tom and
Annie Skaggs in Glen Flora, Texas on December 18, 1903.
Mother Brown united with Pilgrim Rest
Baptist Church as a young adult. Later on, she joined Mount
Zion Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the
late Elder J. B. Allen and was a very active and faithful
member. She also served as the mother of the church under
Elder Jones and was very active until her health failed and
her departure.
She was united in holy matrimony to Fred
Brown Sr. on January 14, 1922. This union was blessed with
nine children, which consisted of three daughters and six
sons. One son preceded her in death. Mother Brown flew away
on a cloud of joy Monday, December 30, 1991 at the age of
eighty-eight. She leaves lasting memories to her husband
Fred Brown, Sr. and eight children, Fred Brown, Jr. of Bay
City, Texas, Mable Fisher of Markham, Texas, Albert Brown,
Annie Jean Williams and Betty Liner of Houston,
Superintendent Henry Brown of Minnesota, John Gary Brown of
Stockton, California and Curtis Brown of Texas City, Texas,
thirty-three grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren,
three sons-in-aw, six daughters-in-law and a host of other
relatives and friends.

Houston; five sons, Fred Brown Jr. of Bay City, Curtis Brown
of Texas City, Albert Brown of Houston, John Brown of
California and Superintendent Henry Brown of Minnesota; five
sisters, Elnora, Ida, Sylvia, Alice and Mary; a brother,
Mack; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
wife and one son.

Brown, Calvin Williams, Fred Brown Jr., Curtis Brown and
John Gary Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Darryl Liner,
Leonard Fisher, Joseph Brown, Lee A. Brown, Gregory Williams

Samuel Brown
Samuel Brown
On April 1, 1922, a baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown in
Markham, Texas, whom they named, Samuel
Little Samuel was reared by his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. James
Harrison in the Markham Community and Bay City Community. During this
time, the Harrison Family were very active members, both dedicated to
Mother Zion Baptist Church as they are today. It was during this phase
of Brother Brown's life, he attended services regularly with his
grandparents. Later in life, after moving to Houston, Texas, he attended
worship services regularly until his passing at Bethany Baptist Church,
with Rev Christopher W. Hatchett as pastor.
He attended public school at A. G. Hilliard High School in Bay City,
Texas.
Brother Brown was a very energetic person who enjoyed playing sports
with the kids.
He was united in marriage to Miss Bernice Carter. To this union two sons
were born. His parents, grandparents and one son, William preceded him
in death.
His earthly journey came quietly to an end on Friday, August 2, 1991 in
Houston, Texas. His memories will always remain in the hearts of his
son, Samuel Brown, Jr. of Bay City, 5 grandchildren, 3
great-grandchildren, three sisters, Ms. Annie Mae Boone of Markham, Ms.
Verlee Boone of Bay City, and Mrs. Martha Lee Tillman of Galveston, two
brothers, Levi Boone of Houston and James Boone of LaMarque, one aunt,
Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Bay City and one uncle, Mr. John Harrison of Bay
City and a host of nieces and nephews and a family of friends.

of Markham, were held at 1 p. m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1994, at
Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. James Ashton
officiating. Burial followed in Markham Cemetery in Markham.
Mr. Brown was born Feb. 22, 1914, in
Texas to Ervin and Mary Jane Miller Brown and died Nov. 10,
1994, in Twelve Oak Hospital in Houston.
He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Mack Brown Jr. and Pauline Brown of
Houston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys Thomas and
Burkley Thomas of Houston and Shirley Smith and Moses Smith
Jr. of Bay City; five sisters, Elnora Boone and Alice Jones
of Markham, Ida Williams of Sweeny, Sylvia McDonald and Mary
Salyes of Los Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and other relatives
and friends.
Pallbearers are Albert Brown, Fred Brown
Jr., Roy Wyche, Clenton Wyche, Willie Boone and Willie
Fisher.
