Irene Williams

On October 8, 1950, a seventh child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Williams and Markham, Texas, whom they named Irene.

She united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. A. J. Williams.

After a lengthy illness, God called her home to rest. She departed this life July 28, 1977 at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas at 11:30 P. M.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her Mother, Mrs. Emily Williams of Markham, grandmother, Mrs. Irene Burns of Markham, four children, Jeri Lynn, Mary, Kerry Joe all of Markham, and Atlanta Patricia of Bay City, seven sisters, Mrs. Jessie Parr, Mrs. Hester Davis, Anna and Rita of Markham, Mrs. Wanda Flagg and Jeanette Williams of Bay City, Mrs. Leatha Jackson of San Antonio, six brothers, Daniel, Ralph, Otto and Jeffrey Williams of Markham, and Carnell Williams of San Antonio, Clyde B. Williams of Germany, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Pink Williams Sr., in Brazoria County, Texas on July 9, 1916, a son named Jesse.

He became a member of the church at an early age.

On December 10, 1938, he was married to Miss Emily Mae Boone. To this union fifteen children were born. One preceded him in death.

He departed this life on May 8, 1971. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Emily Williams, eight daughters, Mrs. Jessie Parr and Mrs. Wanda Flagg of Markham, Miss Letha Williams of San Antonio, Misses Irene, Jeanette, Hester, Anna and Rita Williams all of Markham. Six sons, Clydie Williams of Colorado Springs, Carnell Williams of German, Daniel, Ralph, Otto and Jeffrey of Markham. One daughter-in-law, three brothers, six sisters, thirteen grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Mary Francis Williams

On December 4, 1943, a baby girl was born to Andrew and Millie Brooks in Egypt, Texas, whom they named Mary Francis.

She grew up in Richmond, Texas and attended public school there. Later she met and married Clidie B. Williams of Markham, Texas.

At a very early age, she was united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham, Texas under the leadership of Rev. H. T. Aldridge.

Her life came quietly to an end in Brooks Army Medical Hospital, Fort Sam Houston on September 6, 1987 at 7:30 A. M.

She leaves many memories to her loving husband, Clidie B. Williams of Fort Hood, Texas; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Emily Williams of Markham; seven sisters, Oliver Borches, Andra Hardeman, Lorraine Freeman, Verlee King, Ella Mae Sherman all of Houston, Lucille Perkins of Los Angeles, Calif., Myrtle Gary of Egypt; two brothers, Dennis Brooks of Bay City and Curtis Brooks of Richmond; nine sisters-in-law, twelve brothers-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Pink Williams, Jr.

Funeral services for Pink Williams Jr., 75, of Galveston County, are scheduled for noon Friday, Dec. 30, 1994, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham with the Rev. James Ashton officiating. Burial will be in Markham Cemetery in Markham.

A memorial service will be held from 7 to 8 p. m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 1994, at Mainland Funeral Home in LaMarque.

Mr. Williams was born Jan. 23, 1919, in Brazoria, to Pink Williams and Hester Tone-Williams and died Dec. 24, 1994, at Houston’s Specialty Hospital in Houston.

He was a resident of Galveston County and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the ILA Local #851, the Masonic Lodge, VFW, Scottish Rite Grand Lodge A. F. and A. M. and Timothy Lodge #276.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah A. Dotson and Ethy Johnson and Rosko; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bruce A. Williams and Reginald Williams and Denise; five grandchildren, Stacey Dotson, Dionne Johnson, Denna Johnson, Christina Williams and Reginald D. Williams, Jr.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn Williams of Houston, Lerella Greer and Jessie of Houston, Rosie Lee Latham and Ed of Houston and Amy Singletary of Van Vleck; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Claretha Williams of Houston and Nelson and Annie J. Williams of Houston; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and special friends Ruben Yoakum of Texas City, Cleronia Morgan of Galveston and Major Allen of LaMarque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pink and Hester Tone Williams; two sisters, Lillian Boone and Mary Sardinea and a brother, Jessie Williams.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home of Bay City.
