Memorial Donation Harmonie Club representatives Neva Wilson and Diane Bowers (right) present a donation of $100 to Rev. Herb Willke to help fund the construction of the Kerry Dale Bell Tower and Memorial Garden at St. John's Episcopal Church. The structure is being built in memory of 1st Lt. Kerry Dale, USMC. At left is Lt. Dale's widow, Tami Petersen Dale, daughter Amber, and father Jim Dale. The bell tower contains the bell from the Old Hawley Church. The public is invited to the dedication ceremony for the memorial to be held at 12:30 p. m. Sunday during which Marine and Naval aviators plan a missing-man formation flyby. Veda C. Dale, age 63, of Palacios, formerly of Houston, died Sunday,
September 16, 2001. She was born July 21, 1938 in Dallas, Texas,
daughter of James E. and Bernice Chenault. She was the former owner
and operator of Palacios Sporting Goods until her retirement. Aside
from being a businesswoman, she was a civic leader and director of
Palacios Chamber of Commerce, director and chairman of Friends of
Elder Citizens in Palacios, member of Harmony Club, and a faithful
member of Grace Episcopal Church in Port Lavaca. Preceded in death
by parents, by son, Kerry Dale in 1988, and brother David Ripple. |

James “Jim” Preston Dale, 81, of Palacios, TX passed
away to be with his Lord on Sept. 22, 2012. Palacios Beacon
