Bay City—Belen Alameda, 86, of Bay City, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999.

He was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Beeville, to the late Secundino and Francisca Ybarra Alameda. He was a retired laborer for the City of Bay City and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Survivors: daughters, Mary Gonzales, Genevieve Sanchez, Josephine Lopez, Christina Pedraza and Eva Cervantes; sons, Albert Alameda, Frank Alameda, Adam Alameda, Belen Alameda Jr. and Roy Alameda; brother, Mike Alameda; 37 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: wife, Narcisa G. Alameda.

A rosary will be recited 6 p. m. today at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be at 10 a. m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Rev. Edward Boren officiating.

Burial will be at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City, (409) 245-4613.

SUNIGA RITES SET THURSDAY

Camarino Suniga, 76, who resided at 1404 Ave. M, passed away at Matagorda General Hospital Tuesday morning.

There will be rosary at 7 p.m. this evening at the Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday morning at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Cedarvale Cemetery. Father Richard Jeffery will officiate.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda of Bay City; five daughters, Mrs. Lupe Magnia, Mrs. Tina Leal, Mrs. Tomasa Pacheco, all of Bay City, Mrs. Margaret Yanes of Palacios, and Mrs. Santos Estrada of San Benito; two sons, Victor of Galveston, and Teo Doro of Bay city; and one brother, Santiago Suniga of Houston.

Funeral services for Joaquin Torrez, 86, will be held at 10 am Saturday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Torrez, a Bay City resident for 30 years and a city employee, died Thursday afternoon in a San Antonio hospital.

Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery under the direction of Bay City Funeral Home.

Survivors include five daughters, Mmes. Ramona Silvas, Angelita De La Rosa, Beatrice Torrez, Sarah Torrez, and Miss Josephine Torrez; one son, Perdio Torrez, 20 grandchildren, all of Bay City.

Heart Attack Kills Freeport Café Owner

Enrique Chapa “Henry” Uribe, one of Brazosport’s well-known restaurant owners, died suddenly of a heart attack in Monterrey, Mexico.

Mr. Uribe was in Mexico visiting his mother, who is very ill. He was born May 17, 1899, and has been in Freeport for the past 14 years.

The body will be returned to Freeport tomorrow and will be at the family home, 131 Pine street, until Wednesday when funeral services will be held at St. Henry’s Catholic church on East Fifth, with Father Ralph O’Laughlin officiating. Burial will be in Bay City, under the direction of the Freeport Funeral home.

Survivors include the widow, two sons, Gilbert and Henry Uribe Jr., and one daughter, Gloria all of Freepost, and four step-daughters.

Villareal Infant Services Monday

Funeral services for Johnny Villareal, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Villareal, 1500 Ave. L, were held at 8 a.m. Monday with mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rev. J. P. Shannon officiated, with interment in Cedarvale Cemetery.

The infant, one month and six days old, died Sunday in Matagorda General Hospital. Survivors in addition to the parents, include one sister, Jeanie, and one brother, Jesse. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Services for Ignacio Villarreal, 16, of Bay City, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Latin American Methodist Church with Rev. Apolonio Vega officiating.

The youth died in Matagorda General Hospital Monday afternoon following a brief illness.

A “family” service will be led by Rev. Vega at 7:30 pm Tuesday in the Bay City Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in Cedarvale after the Wednesday services.

Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ynes Villarreal; two brothers, Jesse and Ynes Jr.; five sisters, Mrs. M. Rodriguez, Mrs. Mary Flores, Misses Lupe, Tomasa and Magdalena Villarreal.
