For and in consideration of thirty five dollars, I have this day sold and delivered to F. Waldmann my stock of cattle running in the Prairie and received payment. Matagorda 18th Decr 1848 J. L. Dawson Frances Waldmann having heretofore recorded the brand thus (box) and the same being the brand of all cattle owned by himself and his former wife Louisa Waldmann in which brand that stock still continues to be branded. Now records as the brand of the community cattle between himself and his present wife the letter D retaining the same earmark. Thus the cattle owned by him conjointly with the Estate of his former wife is Branded (box) and the cattle owned by him conjointly with his present wife will hereafter be branded thus D. The same being separate stock & owned in separate interests. |
