Funeral services for Carrie Richardson, 71, of Cedar Lane, Texas, will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, September 10, 2005, at the St. Mark Baptist Church in Bell Bottom, with the Rev. Herbert Hawkins officiating.

Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake, Texas.

Mrs. Richardson died September 4, 2005, at the Matagorda Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2005, from noon until 8 p. m.

Mrs. Richardson will lie in state from 10 a. m. until service time.

Gilbert Lee Roberson

A son was born to Tommie and Annie Mae Roberson on May 6, 1950 in Cedar Lake, Texas, whom they named Gilbert Lee. At an early age he accepted Christ and united with the Bethlehem Christian Church. He attended and graduated from Herman High School in

Van Vleck, Texas. He was employed with the Texas Brine Corporation in Houston, Texas.

He departed this life December 30, 1979 at 2:40 p.m. in Houston, Texas. He leaves to mourn: his two sons, Leon and Gerald Roberson of Houston, Texas; his beloved mother, Annie Roberson of Angleton, Texas; his beloved father Tommie Roberson, Sr. of Cedar

Lake, Texas; five sisters, Ethel Williams Lowe of Flint, Michigan; Johnnie Bell of Brazoria, Texas, Para Lee Miller and Willie Mae Gardner of Houston, Texas, Darlene Roberson of El Campo, Texas; four brothers, Chester and Ralph Roberson of Houston, Tommie Roberson, Jr. of El Campo, Roscoe Roberson of Angleton; five aunts and five uncles, a special friend

John L. Roberson

Funeral services for John L. Roberson, 76, of Cedar Lake will be held 1 p. m. Saturday at Bethel Christian Church in Cedar Lake with the Rev. Lloyd Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Cedar Lake.

Visitation hours are scheduled until 9 p. m. today at Green’s Mortuary.

Mr. Roberson was a member of the Baptist church.

He was born Feb. 15, 1915, to Tom and Neliann Ward Roberson and died March 31, 1991, at Matagorda General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Tena Lee Roberson of Cedar Lake; six daughters, Dorothy Bess of Brazoria, Joyce Snell of Ganado, Debra Roberson, Phyllis Roberson and Paula Roberson, all of Bay City, and Yolanda Roberson of Cedar Lake;; five sons, the Rev. Joyce Roberson of Bay City, Johnny Roberson of Cedar Lane, John Roberson Jr. of Live Oak, the Rev. Gregory Roberson of Bay City and Jackie Roberson of Cedar Lake; two sisters, Minnie Bell Roberson of Cedar Lake and Margaret Taylor of Bay City; one brother, Travis Roberson Sr. of Cedar Lake; 24 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Naomi "Addie" Roberson, 70, formerly of Cedar Lake, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007, at the Bethlehem Christian Church, Cedar Lake, with the Rev. K. W. Bree, eulogist.

Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

She was born in Sargent, Texas, February 20, 1937, to Carrie Murphy and Cary Hawkins, and passed away June 13, 2007, in Houston, Texas.

Survivors include: three daughters, Sonya Stevenson (and Elgie) of Bay City, Varetta Harkless of Cedar Lake, and Roberta Anderson (and Louis) of Freeport; and a son, Elvin Harkless of Cedar Lake.

Also; three sisters, Patricia Hawkins, Joyce Hawkins and Alice Hawkins, all of Sacramento, California; and three brothers, Wash Hawkins of Van Vleck, Howard Hawkins of Sacramento, California, and Melvin Hawkins of Portland, Oregon. Also a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ralph Roberson

Funeral services for Ralph Roberson, 62, of Cedar Lake, will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, May 2 at the Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake with Rev. K. W. Bree officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake. Visitation will be Friday until 9 p. m. in the chapel of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, and Saturday from 10 to 11 a. m. at the church.

Roberson was born in Cedar Lake Saturday, Sep. 14, 1935, to Tommie Roberson, Sr. and Lillie B. Woodard; and passed away Sunday, April 26 in Cedar Lake.

He is survived by his children, Renee and Ronnie; eight sisters, Paralee, Darlene, Willie Mae, Lillie, Dorothy and Ollie, all of Houston, Johnnie of Brazoria, and Ethel of Michigan; nine brothers, Robert Lee and Joe of Cedar Lane, Larry and Richard of Cedar Lake, Jimmie of Houston, Dave of Pearland, Tommie, Jr. of El Campo, Chester of Beaumont, and Roscoe of Stafford; five aunts, Carrie Green of Cedar Lane, Margaret Taylor of Bay City, Isabella Lewis, Mary Wilson, and Millie Pierce, all of Houston; four uncles, Dave Young with wife Naomi, and Roy Bouldin, all of Bay City, Travis Roberson of Cedar Lake, and Willard Young of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and many friends.

Roberson was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Angelina; a step-father, John Young, Jr.; one sister, Evelyn; and two brothers, Gilbert and J. D.

Roscoe Roberson

.Funeral Services for Roscoe Roberson, 63, of Stafford, formerly of Cedar Lake, TX, will be Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake, TX with Rev. Stephen C. White, Officiating and Pastor Kenneth W. Bree, Sr., Eulogizing.  Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cedar Lake, TX.

At an early age, Roscoe grew up in the Cedar Lake Community and attended Bethlehem Christian Church.  He later united with Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Houston. He received his education from O. H. Herman School in Van Vleck, TX.

He passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Sugarland Methodist Hospital in Sugarland, TX.

He enjoyed landscaping, playing sports, table games and spending time with his family and friends.

Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Mae and Tommie Roberson, Sr.; brothers, Ralph Roberson and Gilbert Lee Roberson and sister, Ethel Mae Lowe.

He is survived by his brothers, Chester B. Roberson, Brazoria, Tommie Roberson, Jr. (Novella), El Campo; sisters, Johnnie Mae Bell, Brazoria, Paralee Shivers (Gregory), Willie Mae Gordon (Terry), Darlene L. Judd, all of Houston; devoted and special friend, Bessie Dawson; and a host of nephews, nieces, godchildren, other relatives and friends.

 He was a World War II veteran.

Cora Lee Sibley

Cora was born on August 28, 1925 to Lucy and Shakespeare Brown, Sr. in Cedar Lake, Matagorda County, Texas. She attended public school and grew to womanhood in the Cedar Lake community. She confessed Christ and was baptized by Rev. Richard Page. She was a lifelong devoted, faithful member of Bethlehem Christian Church. In 1956, she united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Phelp Sibley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Jearleen Wyche, and two sisters Angeline Edison and Alzenia Brown.

She departed this life on May 29, 1990 at 10:20 p.m. at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Sara Fields of Brazoria, Texas; one son Leroy Brown of Dallas, Texas; and one foster son, Volando Carter of San Jose, California; one foster daughter, Jessie Parker of Clute, Texas; seven sisters, Flora Hunt of Houston, Texas, Lola McCanick, C!eo Thomas, Luberta Brown, Lydia Dailey, Victoria Brown and Lucy L. Brown all of Cedar Lake; four brothers, Shakespeare Brown, Jr. of Brazoria, Texas, Patrick and Hosea Brown of Houston, Texas and Harry Brown of Van Vleck, Texas; two aunts, Matilda Woodard of Cedar Lake and L. Phelp Sibley

On April 6, 1904, a baby boy was born to Mr. & Mrs. Phelp Sibley in Brazoria County, Texas whom they named Phelp.

He attended Public School in Brazoria County. He united with Samuel Emanuel Baptist Church in Freeport, Texas under the leadership of Rev. A. L. Randolph and served there faithfully until he moved. Then later he united with Bethlehem Christian Church until God called him in on September 9, 1978 at 9:30 P. M. in Sweeny Community Hospital.

He leaves to mourn, his home going, a devoted wife, Cora Sibley, one sister, Mrs. Daisy Lee. He had the joy of raising 5 loving children, Leroy Brown, Sarah Fields, Hannis Prince, Jessie Mae Parks, and Valanda Carter, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She passed away October 26, 1999 in Austin, Texas. She was born October 31, 1972, to Henry Sidney and Sharon Edison Sidney.

She graduated from Southwest Texas State University, and was employed by Texas Guaranteed Student Corporation as an auditor.

Survivors include her parents: Henry and Sharon Edison Sidney; two children: Jordan and Jade; two sisters: Retanda and Cheron Sidney; two brothers: Ronald and Orrick Sidney; grandparents: Pearl Ree Edison, Willie Sidney Williams and William Sidney, Sr.; step-family: Lena Sidney, Miles Baldwin and Dr. Susan Baldwin; god-parents, John and Mary Hall, and a host of other relatives and friends.
