Miles Graham “M.G.” Taylor
Sunday, April 30, 1837 (Lunenburg County, Virginia) – Sunday,
January 20, 1924 (Love County, Oklahoma)
Miles lived with his parents, Henry B. and Francis H. Taylor and two brothers in Rutherford
County, Tennessee at the time of the 1850 U.S. census being taken. He moved with his extended family to
Grayson County, Texas in the mid-1850s.
He enlisted in 1861 to serve in the Confederate Army, serving in the same
company at his father, Co. B of the 22nd Texas Calvary, Bob Taylor's Regiment, Volunteer Calvary. (Confederate Pension Application). During the
Civil War Miles married Barbara Anne Shipp (1844, Saloma, Green Co., Kentucky –
1882 Cooke Co., Texas), younger daughter of Carter Henry Shipp and Jane Sullivan
Shipp, on Tuesday, December 8, 1863 in Grayson Co., Texas.

Myles Henry Taylor (October 20,1864, Sherman, Grayson Co., Texas -
March 9,1947, Olton, Lamb Co., Texas) He married Mary Jane “Jennie” Hensley on
September 11, 1888, in Cooke Co., Texas.
Mary Jane Hensley was born January 12, 1870, in Morgan Co., Missouri and
died March 18, 1945, in Plainview, Hale Co., Texas. Both are buried in Olton Cemetery, Olton,
Lamb Co, Texas.
William Richard “Dick” Taylor (April 27, 1866, Sherman,
Grayson Co., Texas – November 3, 1956, Clovis, Curry Co., New Mexico) He married
Effie May Delisle on October 13, 1892, in Cooke County, Texas. Effie May Delisle was born October 6, 1873,
in Illinois and died on February 24, 1955, in Clovis, Curry Co., New
Mexico. Both are buried in Lawn Haven

Charles Isaac Taylor (January 13, 1870, Grayson Co., Texas - September
8, 1954, Love Co., Oklahoma). He
first married Nancy Ann “Annie” Gunn on January 2, 1898, in Cooke Co.,
Texas. Nancy Ann Gunn was born June 3, 1881,
in Morgan Co., Missouri and died July 18, 1912, in Love Co., Oklahoma. Both are buried in Burneyville Cemetery, Love
Co., Oklahoma.
Charles
Isaac married a
second time. He married Nancy Jane “Nanny” Harris on October 30, 1925,
in
Carter Co., Oklahoma. Nancy Jane Harris was born November 17, 1876, in
Milam County, Texas and died January 15, 1972, in Marietta, Love Co.,
Oklahoma. She is buried in Burneyville Cemetery, Love
Co., Oklahoma. Nancy Harris had
previously married Jasper Newton “Nute” Lovings (1870 – 1945) on November 1, 1894,
in Cooke Co., Texas. He is buried in Burneyville Cemetery, Love Co., Oklahoma.)

Millie Taylor married Isaac Simeon Holeman on August 16, 1894, in Montague Co.,
Texas. Isaac Holeman was born on
February 14, 1872, in Texas and died August 31, 1930, in Belcherville, Montague
Co., Texas. Both are buried in
Belcherville Cemetery, Montague Co., Texas.
Minnie Belle Taylor (June 3, 1876, Grayson Co. - November 11. 1901 Love Co.,
Oklahoma) Minnie Belle is buried in Burneyville Cemetery, Love Co., Oklahoma. Minnie Belle married John Madole Taylor
August 30, 1894, in Cooke Co., Texas.
John Madole was born April 18, 1876, in Morgan Co., Missouri and died
March 12, 1966, in Decatur, Wise Co., Texas.
He is buried in Olton Cemetery, Lamb Co., Texas. John Madole Taylor married a second time to
Nora Lee Hays (1876 – 1966) on February 21, 1904, in Indian Territory,
Oklahoma. Nora Hays is buried in Olton
Cemetery, Lamb Co., Texas.
On Christmas Day 1877 M.G. Taylor purchased 10 acres from T.R.&E.P. (Grayson County Land Records, Vol. 38, page 258)

Miles married a second time in 1885 to Loretta Jane Nichols
(Thursday, January 25, 1844. Mississippi – Wednesday, January 24, 1912. Pike,
Love Co., Oklahoma), widow of Anthony Fuller Beall, in Gainesville, Cooke Co., Texas.
Miles
G. Taylor, age 65, filed for Confederate pension as a resident of Cooke
Co., Texas. At the time he filed his application he had been
living in Gainesville, Cooke Co. for only 2 weeks. He described
his physical condition as "very feeble" due to asthma, bronchitis, and
old age; he stated he was not able to engage in any occupation.
The personal property and value he had was listed:

2 colts, worth $20.00
6 head of cattle, worth $70.00

Taylor died Wednesday, January 24, 1912, in Pike, Love Co.,
Oklahoma. M.G. Taylor died on Sunday, January 20, 1924 in Love
