Taylor Family Henry B. Taylor 22 September 1804 - 11 November 1887 Henry B. Taylor was born September 22, 1804 Lunenburg Co.,
Virginia and died November 11, 1887 Sherman, Grayson Co., Texas. Henry B. Taylor moved with his wife and 3 sons from Virginia to Tennessee about 1837, and then to Grayson County, Texas about 1856. Livint in Grayson County by 1856, Isaac B. Taylor lived in Precinct #6 and had lived in the state, county and precinct for 11 years as shown on Henry B. Taylor's voter registration which occurred on July 16, 1867. (Texas, US Voter Registration Lists, 1866-1869) Henry purchased 43.75 acres, being part of the headright of Survey of Harman Wynn, on the waters of Shannon creek from A.D. Moore on January 29, 1858 in Grayson County, Texas, described as follows, To wit beginning at the N.W. Corner of Henry B. Taylor's Survey of 45 acres at a stake from which a Gray Ash marked A bears 24 degrees 3-1/2 varas. Thence East 503 varas to the N.E. corner of Taylor survey. Thence north with the said East line to Shannon Creek. Thence with the creek to where the west line of a 120 acre survey crosses the said creek. Thence south with said line to the beginning corner, containing 43-3/4 acres to have and to hold unto him the H.B. Taylor his heirs and assigns the above and foregoing described tract or parcel of Land...." For the sum of $215.00. (Grayson Co., Texas Land Titles, Vol.J, page 207) The Taylor Family Cemetery is located on land originally purchased by Henry B. Taylor. The first burial in the family cemetery is believed to be that of Frances H. Steagall Taylor, who died May 10, 1871. Henry died November 11, 1887 in Sherman, Grayson Co., Texas and is buried in the Taylor Family Cemetery. The Taylor Family Cemetery is located on the original farm which is currently on Calf Creek Ranch, Mayes Road, Grayson Co., Texas.
