Following
the marriage of his widow to lawyer
John Wooferd of Bonham, the estate
of Dr. Heiston was finally settled in
1859 among his heirs, Book B,
pages 261-283 for Cause #5-9 of the
Civil Minutes of Grayson County
showed the distribution and
disposition of the estate. The Court's
decree regarding personal property
follows in part:
"It is further ordered that the Negro
Boy, Bill, and
also the Negro Woman, Emeline,
and her two children, Robert
and Susan,
also about 40 head of cattle, 2 mules,
1 horse and 1 wagon be sold at
public auction by Sallie Wooferd at
the Court House in Bonham on a
credit to the first day of January,
1860, - - - and that the proceeds
of the sale be divided among the
parties to the suit as follows: - -
