Thursday, February 12, 1970 pg. 7 Mrs. C.L. Clark Dies at Daughter's Home Whitewright - Mrs. Charley L. Clark, 66, a native of Tennessee and a resident of Texas for 60 years, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Coleman, 1319 North Cleveland, Sherman. Her home was in the Desert community. Mrs. Clark was on her way to visit a doctor in Sherman when she became ill and was taken to her daughter's home. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Claud Johnston, pastor of the North Park Baptist Church at Sherman, conducted the service. Assisting was Rev. Peck Williams. Pallbearers were Dolph Hopper, Lee Coleman, John Coleman, J.C. Brown, Wilburn Cornell and J.L. Cornell. Burial was at Cross Roads Cemetery, south of Whitewright, directed by Earnheart Funeral Home. Mrs. Clark was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Watson. She was married on November 10, 1912 at Whitewright. She had lived in the Desert community since 1892. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; 3 sons: Birt Clark of Bells; William Clark of Sherman; and Ernest Mayo of Coolidge, Arizona; 3 daughters, Mrs. Charles Coleman and Mrs. Elmer Brown, both of Sherman; and Mrs. Tommy Bryan of Dallas; 3 sisters, Mrs. Jim Ashinhurst of Whitewright; Mrs. H.S. Todd of Greenville; and Mrs. Emma McCarty of Sherman; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
