Thursday, June 27, 1946 pg 4 John Harvey Adams, 79, of 423 West Wilson, Sherman, died Sunday night at St. Vincent Hospital. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. A. Henderson at the Desert church Tuesday at 3 p.m. and burial was in the Desert cemetery under the direction of the Earnheart Funeral Home. Mr. Adams was born in Madisonville, Tenn, and came to Texas when he was 14. He settled near Whitewright, where he farmed until four years ago. He married Hannah Isom in 1900. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Bells for 40 years. He is survived by four sons, Delmar C. Adams, Cecil Adams and Charlie Adams of Sherman and O. L. Adams of Carney, Okla; two daughters, Cora Bell Sutherland of Sherman and Myrtle Buchanan of Van Alstyne. The Whitewright Sun Thursday January 29, 1942 Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah Adams, wife of J. H. Adams, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Desert Presbyterian Church south of Whitewright. Burial was in Desert cemetery. Service's were conducted by Rev. J. A. Henderson of Pink Hill and Dr. B. Wrenn Webb. Mrs. Adams died at 11:40 p.m. Friday at a Sherman hospital after an illness of about two years. The family resides on Mrs. O. M. Whedbee's farm west of town. Mrs. Adams was born in 1881 in Tennessee and came to Texas in 1888. She was married April 1, 1900. Surviving are her husband; four sons, O. L. Adams of Be..s, Delmar Adams of Sherman and Cecil and Charles Adams at home; two daughters, Mrs. Cora Sutherland of Sherman and Mrs. Myrtle Buchanan of Whitewright; eight grandchildren: three brothers, A. D. Isom, Art Isom and Jim Isom of Sherman; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Higginbotham of Sherman and Mrs. L. Archer of Tupelo, Okla.
