Mrs. Janie Minerva Yeury, 82, a life long resident of Grayson county, died Monday at 4:45 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. D. Taylor, in Howe. She had been in declining health a year.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Cannon tabernacle, east of Van Alstyne. Dr. J. A. Ellis, pastor of the First Baptist church of Sherman, will officiate. Burial will be in the Cannon cemetery under the direction of Dannel-Scott.

Mrs. Yeury was born March 23, 1858, in Jamison community, northeast of Van Alstyne, a daughter of R. B. and Minerva Cole George. She was married in Jamison Dec. 22, 1878 to John F. Yeury, who died in 1913. She had resided in the Howe community since 1898, moving with Mr. Yeury there from Jamison. Mrs. Yeury was a member of the Sister Grove Baptist church.

She is survived by two sons, Collier Yeury of Sherman, Grayson County tax officer, and P. H. Yeury of Howe; two daughters, Mrs. G. G. Strickland of Van Alstyne and Mrs. Taylor of Howe; a sister, Mrs. R. W. Bradley of Farmington; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Clifford, John, Jack and Bob Strickland, Jewel Morrison and Arnold Ponder.
