Thursday, July 8, 1982 pg. 2 FUNERAL Services were held Tuesday, July 6, 1982 at the Tom Bean Church of Christ for Owen William Smith, 81, retired farmer and stockman of Rt. 4, Sherman, who died Sunday, July 4. A.C. Quinn of the church officiated with burial at Cannon Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in the Celtic community, son of William Samuel and Mary Jane Harrell Smith, and married Delle Roan November 16, 1918, in Bells. A lifelong Grayson County resident, he attended Celtic and Howe public schools, was a farmer and stockman in the White Mound community for more than 60 years and a member of the Tom Bean Church of Christ. Survivors are his wife; son, Dwight Smith of Howe; daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Fern) Johnson of Howe; 4 granddaughters and 9 great-grandchildren.
