Simpson 9 January 1911 - 3 July 1969 Van Alstyne Leader Thursday, July 10, 1969 Services for Ghomer Royce Simpson, 58, killed Thursday in a car-truck collision on U.S. Highway 75 between Sherman and Denison, were Sunday afternoon from Flesher Chapel in Van Alstyne with Rev. Ralph White, pastor of Elmont Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Cannon Cemetery. An employee of Sherman Quaker Oats Co., Mr. Simpson lived at 125 W. Sears in Denison. Born January 9, 1911 in Texas, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Simpson. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Sharon Scott of McKinney and Miss Connie Sue Simpson of Denison; 2 sisters, Mrs. L.R. Smith of Sherwood Shores and Ms. Bill Ireland of Whitewright; 2 brothers, Rex Simpson and Harles Simpson, both of Van Alstyne; a half-brother, W. A. Tallent of Sherman; and one grandchild.
